Abstract

Textured yarns are transported away at texturing speeds of more than 1500 m/min. from a texturing apparatus via a rotating screen drum or a perforated roller, through which air is sucked. The yarn roving obtained during texturing is drawn off via a drawing-off unit at a speed which is 3 to 40 times, preferably 6 to 30 times, the speed at which the yarn roving passes from the texturing apparatus on to the rotating screen drum or perforated roller. At the same time, breaking devices between the screen drum and the drawing-off unit, in conjunction with the breaking effect of the yarn drawn off in a grazing manner via the screen drum, compensate linear yarn-density fluctuations in a self-regulating way.
