Abstract

The clock possesses a high-frequency time generator (11), a frequency divider (12) and a plurality of time registers (13, 14, 15; 13a, 14a, 15a). A single display converter (25) which sequentially individually represents the numerals of the time value is available for the time display. Furthermore, the clock has only a single control device for retrieving the time display and setting the registers, the choice of a register being made as a function of the number of operations of the control device within a specific time period. The display converter (25) is preferably a sound converter, with the result that the time display consists of an acoustic tone sequence. In this case, the display converter can also function as a control device, e.g. when it is possible to interrogate the time display by tapping the display converter and to set the time by additional tapping. The sound converter can, furthermore, serve as an alarm device. <IMAGE>
