Gegenstand der Erfindung ist die Herstellung von Azofarb-stoffen, die in Form der freien Säure der Formel

Geeignete Alkylreste R2, R3, Rs, Re, Rs, Rs und Rio sind insbesondere solche mit 1-4 C-Atomen, die durch Hydroxy, Cyan, Halogen wie Chlor, Brom oder Fluor oder Ci-Gt-Alkoxy weiter substituiert sein können, beispielsweise Methyl, Äthyl, n-Propyl, iso-Propyl, n-Butyl, tert.-Butyl, Cyanäthyl, Hydroxyäthyl, 2-Hydroxypropyl oder 2-Chloräthyl.

Geeignete Arylreste R2, R3, Rs, Rs und R9 sind insbesondere Phenylreste, die weitere Substituenten enthalten können, beispielsweise Halogen wie Chlor, Brom und Fluor, Ci-Cj-Alkyl und Ci-C4-Alkoxy.
Geeignete Arylreste R7 oder Arylreste in -SCh-Aryl von R4 ]5 sind insbesondere Phenyl- und Naphthylreste, die gegebenenfalls durch Ci-Ct-Alkyl, Ci-Gt-Alkoxy, Halogen wie Chlor,
Brom oder Fluor, Cyan oder Nitro substituiert sein können, insbesondere aber Phenyl, o-, m-, p-Methylphenyl, 1-Naphthyl und 2-Naphthyl. 20
Geeignete Alkoxyreste R2, R3, Rs sind insbesondere C1-G1-Alkoxy wie Methoxy, Äthoxy, Butoxy.
Geeignete Halogenatome R2, R3 und Rs sind Chlor, Brom, Fluor vorzugsweise aber Chlor.
Geeignete Aralkylreste Rs und R9 sind beispielsweise gege- 2s benenfalls durch nichtionogene Substituenten weitersubstituierte Benzyl- oder Phenäthylreste, insbesondere aber Benzyl oder 2-Phenäthyl.
Ein geeigneter heterocyclischer Rest Rs ist beispielsweise der3-Tetramethylensulfonrest. 30

Das erfindungsgemässe Verfahren zur Herstellung der Farbstoffe (I) besteht in der Kondensation eines Aminoazo-farbstoffes der Formel (XI) mit einem o-Nitro-halogenbenzol der Formel (X)

Verbindungen der Formel

erhält man nach im Prinzip bekannten Verfahren durch Umsetzung von Verbindungen der Formel (XV) mit Sulfonsäurehalo-geniden der Formel R7-S02-Halogen.

Die Kondensation der o-Nitro-halogenbenzole (X) mit den Aminoazofarbstoffen (XI) zu den Farbstoffen der Formel (I) kann in an sich bekannter Weise, beispielsweise in wässrigem Medium unter Zusatz von organischen Lösungsmitteln, wie
Alkoholen oder Glykolen, in Gegenwart von säurebindenden Mitteln wie Magnesiumoxid, Calciumcarbonat, Alkalicarbona-ten oder Alkalibicarbonaten durchgeführt werden. Man kann die Kondensationen auch wasserfrei, z. B. in Glykol oder Gly-5 kolmonomethyläther in Gegenwart von Natriumacetat durchführen. Zu den Kondensationen wendet man Temperaturen zwischen 50 und 200 °C, vorzugsweise zwischen 80 und 150 °C, an.
Die schwerer löslichen Farbstoffe (I) können dadurch gut 10 wasserlöslich gemacht werden, dass man sie mit Salzen aus starken Basen und schwachen Säuren, beispielsweise Trinatriumphosphat, Dinatriumhydrogenphosphat, Natriumtetraborat, Natriummetaphosphat, Natriummetasilikat oder Natriumcar-bonat vermischt.
15 Die neuen Farbstoffe der Formel (I) können in Form der freien Säure oder als Alkalimetall- oder Ammoniumsalze isoliert werden bzw. vorliegen bzw. weiterer Verwendung zugeführt werden. Geeignete Alkalimetallsalze, in denen also das Wasserstoffatom der -NH-Gruppe durch ein Alkalimetallka-20 tion ersetzt ist, sind beispielsweise die Natrium-, Kalium- oder Lithiumsalze.
Die neuen Farbstoffe eignen sich besonders zum Färben und Bedrucken von natürlichen und synthetischen amidgrup-penhaltigen Fasermaterialien, beispielsweise solchen aus , 25 Wolle, Seide und Polyamid, wie Poly- e-caprolactam oder dem Umsetzungsprodukt von Hexamethylendiamin mit Adipinsäure. Die erhaltenen Färbungen, insbesondere solche auf Polyamidmaterialien, zeichnen sich durch gute Echtheitseigenschaften aus; insbesondere durch gute Nasse.chtheiten und gute 3o Lichtechtheiten. Auch das Neutralziehvermögen und das Kombinationsverhalten mit anderen geeigneten Farbstoffen für dieses Material ist gut. Die Farbstoffe der Formel (I) werden entweder in Form der freien Säure ( ^N H) oder als Alkali- oder als Ammoniumsalz zum Färben eingesetzt.

Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 zur Herstellung von Farb-entsprechen, worinRi ' die bereits genannte Bedeutung hat,60 R4' für H, Methyl, Äthyl, Propyl, Butyl, 2-Hydroxyäthyl, 2-Hydroxypropyl, 2-Hydroxybutyl, l-Methyl-2-hydroxypropyl, 2-Hydroxy-2-phenyläthyl oder 2,3-Dihydroxypropyl steht, wobei sich der Rest -OR4' in o- oder p-Stellung zur Azogruppe befindet,65 Rs' für H, Ci-CU-Alkyl oder Phenyl undR?' für Ci-CU-Alkyl, Phenyl, o- und p-Toluol, 1- oder 2-Naphthyl stehen.2 ^RgR4 H, Alkyl oder -SCh-Aryl,Rs H, Halogen, Alkyl, Aryl oder Alkoxy,Ra H, Alkyl,R? Alkyl, Aryl oder Dialkylamino und Rs und Rs H, Alkyl, Aryl, Aralkyl oder Heteroaryl bedeuten oder unter Einschluss des N-Atoms den Rest eines Heterocy-clus bilden,Rio Alkyl und n 1 oder 2 bedeuten,der Rest OR4 ortho- oder paraständig zur Azogruppe steht und der Rest -SO2-NH-SO2-R7 entweder in Ring A anstelle von Ri steht oder im Ring B zusätzlich zu einem Substituenten Rj (n = 1) einmal vorkommt, wobei Alkylreste R2, R3, Rs, Re, Rs, Rq und Rio durch -OH, -CN, Halogen oder Ci- bis C4-Alkoxy substituiert sein können und ein Alkylrest R4 durch -OH, Phe-nyl, Ci- bis CU-Alkoxy, (Ci- bis C4-Alkyl)-carbonyloxy oder (C2-bis C4-Alkenyl)-carbonyloxy substituiert sein kann, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man Aminoazofarbstoffe der Formel25 Stoffen, die in Form der freien Säure der Formel /N0a ^SOj-NH-SO-J-RJ, B,H. 4(II)354045(XI)mit einem o-Nitro-halogenbenzol der FormelN0aRl"®~Hal0g8n55R 'entsprechen, worin ^ ßRi'- für H, Nitro oder den Rest —SO„N t* ^ TJ I9Rs' und Rs' für H, Ci-OAlkyl, Phenyl oder Benzyl oder zusammen mit dem N-Atom für Morpholinyl, Piperidinyl oder Pyrrolidinyl stehen,R4, Rs und R? die in Anspruch 1 angegebene Bedeutung haben und der Rest OR4 in o- oder p-Stellung zur Azogruppe steht.2PATENTANSPRÜCHE 1.
