Abstract

A rotor assembly for a stepping motor for an electronic timepiece comprises a rotor magnet 10 which is bonded to a pinion by means of a bonding agent disposed in a gap between a bore in the rotor magnet and the pinion periphery. In manufacture a non-magnetic filler powder of glass, ceramic or metal is placed in the gap and, as shown, liquid epoxy resin 48 is introduced, this being subsequently hardened. The magnet may be of samarium cobalt material and provided with a plastics coating, A plastics film or a boss on the pinion may seal the bottom of the bore. The bore may be conical in shape. <IMAGE>
