REVENDICATIONS
a) à l'aide de la machine-outil, une saignée 6 de 7 mm de largeur sur 8 mm de profondeur est exécutée à travers le rail dans l'axe du profil isolant, fig. 2;
b) dans l'encoche 6, on introduit une pièce 7 isolante complémentaire de 75 x 10 x 7,3 mm en Ertalon préalablement enduite de colle spéciale à prise rapide S-DINE, fig. 3;
c) pour assurer le positionnement de la pièce isolante 7, un trou 9 de 3 mm de diamètre est percé dans l'axe du rail et du profil intercalaire sur une profondeur de 15 mm; dans le trou, une tige isolante 8 de 3 mm de diamètre en polyamide est introduite, fig. 4;

CLAIMS
1. A method of maintaining insulated joints glued to railway track circuits, characterized in that metal burrs are eliminated on the insulated joints glued using a machine tool fixed on the rail of rolling and, in the same milling operation, part of the seal is removed from insulating material, then a complementary insulating piece is inserted into the notch, a piece which is glued and subsequently shaped according to the profile of the rolling surface of the rail.
2. Machine tool for implementing the method according to claim 1, comprising an electric motor and a reduction gear, the output shaft of which is arranged to be fitted with a milling cutter, characterized in that the motor and the reduction gear are integral with a slide movable in translation on a table and in that the latter comprises means for fixing it to the rail in a position where the direction of translation of the slide is perpendicular to the rail, and a threaded rod attached to the slide and ensuring said translation by rotation about its axis.
The safety technique of railway operations uses track circuits to ensure automatic control of the occupation of sections of track by vehicles.
The track circuit generally has, at each of its ends, an insulated bonded joint allowing the electrical isolation of the track over a certain length.
The repeated passage of convoys over a glued joint causes, after a certain time, the discharge of the metal from the rail ends of the running surface onto the insulating profile of insulating material.
Metal burrs can cause the insulated seal to short-circuit, so it is particularly important to carefully maintain the insulated seals to ensure the reliability of safety installations.
The usual method of maintenance is to remove burrs with a hacksaw or chisel, which does not achieve a satisfactory work finish.
On the other hand, the method of the invention defined in the claim
1 has the advantage of obtaining an irreproachable work finish with the presentation of a seal in new condition. The invention also includes a machine tool for implementing the method defined in claim 2.
The invention will be better understood on reading the description giving an example of the process of the invention with reference to the drawing.
Fig. 1 shows a damaged insulated joint,
fig. 2 illustrates the elimination of burrs using a milling machine fixed to the rail,
fig. 3 shows the seal of FIG. 1 after grinding,
fig. 4 shows the positioning of the complementary part, and
fig. 5 shows the attachment of the complementary part.
In fig. 1 shows a damaged insulating joint. The two ends of the rails 1,2 are separated by an insulating material 10 and are connected by fishplates 4 and bolts 5. As the insulating material wears out, the rails have burrs 3.
The process includes the following execution phases of the work:
a) using the machine tool, a groove 6 of 7 mm wide by 8 mm deep is made through the rail in the axis of the insulating profile, fig. 2;
b) in the notch 6, an additional insulating piece 7 of 75 x 10 x 7.3 mm in Ertalon is introduced, previously coated with special quick-setting adhesive S-DINE, fig. 3;
c) to ensure the positioning of the insulating part 7, a hole 9 of 3 mm in diameter is drilled in the axis of the rail and of the intermediate profile to a depth of 15 mm; a 3 mm diameter polyamide insulating rod 8 is inserted into the hole, fig. 4;
d) finally, the insulating part is shaped by hand according to the profile of the rail.
To facilitate and accelerate the elimination of burrs while allowing the formation of groove G to the required dimensions, a portable milling machine with motor and reduction gear has been mounted on a guide device, as shown in fig. 2. A table 11 has, on its lower surface, four legs 12 which the clamping bolts pass through 13. On one side, lock nuts 14 make it possible to fix the bolts, so that the table 11 is put in place on one of the rails 1 or 2 in a position perpendicular to the rail.
The longitudinal edges of the table form a guide slide in which moves a slide 15 carrying a fixing foot 16 for the portable milling machine 17, a worm gear reducer frame 17 and a mounting upright 19 for a threaded rod 20 oriented in the axis of movement of the milling machine 17. The threaded rod 20 passes through a fixed nut 21 secured to the table 1 1 and carries, at its end, a crank 22. The cutter 23 is mounted on the output shaft of the reducer 18. The latter is parallel to the rail, so that, by moving the slider 15 by means of the crank 22, the cutter 23 cuts the groove 6 in a very precise manner.
