Abstract

The display device includes, for each figure or letter to be displayed, a box (4) of rectangular shape divided into seven compartments (such as 17) by internal partitions. A bulb (22) is placed in each compartment. The compartments are partially covered over by covers (such as 20) leaving only segment-shaped elongate apertures (such as 17') existing. The assembly is closed by a translucent plate (1) fixed to the edge (3) of the box (4). By selectively illuminating the bulbs, figures representing the numbers from zero to nine are made to appear, in a seven-segment system which is well known per se. In an embodiment including sixteen compartments, it is possible to make the letters of the alphabet appear. <IMAGE>
