Abstract

The distillate of the product obtained by macerating Thymus Serpyllum L. and Malva Silvetris in white wine constitutes an antiwrinkle agent. An antiwrinkle cosmetic product is prepared with this agent and with the decoction liquid of Althaea Officinalis L. and Achillea Millefolium L.

Description

The present invention relates to an anti-wrinkle agent produced from natural plant-type substances.

For the preparation of this agent we start from the plant species Thymus Serpyllum L. (herbs) and Malva Silvestris (flower and leaves).

The anti-wrinkle agent is prepared by distilling the liquid product created by the maceration of these plant species in white wine.

In fact, it has been discovered that, if one of these two plant species is absent, the desired anti-wrinkle effect is not obtained, so it is believed that these two plant species produce, in maceration or extraction in white wine, substances that are recovered by distillation, have a synergistic effect with regard to the prevention and fight against facial wrinkles.

It is also believed that the natural enzymes contained in white wine also have a determining action for the extraction and / or formation of said anti-wrinkle agent.

The quantity of Thymus Serpyllum (hereinafter simply called thyme) and Malva silvestris (hereinafter called mallow) to be used in relation to each other, can fluctuate between one part of one, against three parts of the other by weight , or vice versa, and respectively equal quantities to each other.

The type of white wine to be used is not critical, as long as it is a natural grape wine, that is, free of anti-fermentative substances. As a quantity of wine to be used for maceration, a quantity of 1 liter per about 50 g of plant material has proved satisfactory, but it can vary within reasonable limits.

To the effects of the preparation of a cosmetic anti-wrinkle preparation, it has also been found advantageous to add the liquid of the root and leaf decoction of the species Althaea Officinalis L. to the above mentioned active agent, whose common name is malvaccione and bismalva.

The liquid of said decoction has in fact advantageous properties towards the application of the preparation to the skin of the face. In fact said liquid contains mucilaginous substances, galactoronic acid, pectin, starch, asparagine, betaine, or other substances.

This liquid is prepared by boiling the roots and leaves of Althaea for a few minutes in water and then filtering the liquid.

The amount of Althaea Officinalis L. decoction liquid to be used together with the active liquid can be equal to half up to 5 times the volume of said active agent, depending on the type of skin for which the preparation to be produced is intended.

It has also been found advantageous, particularly for the preparation of a cosmetic preparation for delicate skin, to include in the maceration process in white wine in addition to thyme and mallow, the plant species Smilax Officinalis K. (common name sarsaparilla) and Calendula Officinalis L. (common name marigold).

Smilax has an anti-allergic activity and it is advantageous to use it in the application to sensitive skin, while it can be eliminated for a cosmetic intended for oily skin.

Marigold has a toning and antibacterial effect and ensures a certain natural conservation of the product even in the absence of preservatives.

The quantity of Smilax and calendula to be used in maceration can be substantially equal to the respective quantities used for thyme and mallow; however these quantities are not considered critical.

For its anti-degreasing properties, it is also considered advantageous to add a decoction liquid of Achillea Millefolium L. to the above liquids, also produced by boiling this herb in water.

The amount of deoctto liquid with respect to the rest of the composition can oscillate within wide limits depending on the distillation of the cosmetic, its quantity being greater for oily skin and lesser for fine skin. Its quantity can vary between 10 and 50% by volume of the total liquid.

The cosmetic preparation based on the active agent as described above, can be used, added or not with the other liquids described above, as such, in the form of lotion.

It can also be prepared in the form of a cream, as well known in the cosmetic technique, by homogenizing it with lipid-based products of normal use in the cosmetic technique.

Preparation of the active agent

An example of preparation of the anti-wrinkle active agent is now described.

500 ml of white grape wine are introduced into a 2-liter Erlenmeyer flask equipped with a stirrer and distiller.

10 g of thyme herbs and 10 g of flower and mallow leaves are introduced into the wine. The flask is brought to a temperature of 30 ° C and maceration is carried out at this temperature for 5 days, putting the agitator into operation.

At the end of the maceration the product is distilled through a normal distiller at a temperature of 100 ° C by placing the flask in a water bath.

The material leaving the distiller is collected and constitutes the anti-wrinkle liquid active agent.

Some examples of cosmetic preparation based on active agent as described are now described.

Example 1 Preparation of a lotion a) Using the procedure described in the previous preparation example, 10 g of thyme, 10 g of malga, 10 g of Smilax Officinalis and 10 g of Calendula Officinalis are introduced into 500 ml of wine. Proceeding as described in the preparation example, the distillate of the maceration product or vegetable extract is obtained.

b) 10 g of Althaea Officinalis are boiled in 100 ml of water for 10 minutes. The liquid is filtered on gauze and recovered. It forms the liquid of Althaea decoction.

c) In the same way as indicated in b) an Achillea Millefolium deoct liquid is prepared.

The liquids thus produced can be combined in various proportions to prepare respectively a lotion for fine skin and a lotion for oily skin, of the following formulation:

These lotions can be used as cleansing lotions.

Example 2 Preparation of anti-wrinkle cream

For the cream a liquid phase is used consisting of the liquids indicated below (a), (b) and (c) described in example 1 and distilled water, as well as a solid phase of a lipidic nature which are emulsified and hemogenized according to known techniques, until to get a cream.

In the following table 2 exemplary formulations are given for fine and oily skin, in which the liquid components are indicated in ml and the solid components in g.

Preferably the liquid phase and the solid or lipid phase are used in quantities which, expressed by weight, are substantially equal.

The products used for the solid phase are of usual use in cosmetics and it will be noted that the compositions vary in the amount of decoction of Althaea and decoction of Alkillea depending on the destination of the cosmetic for fine or oily skin.

Results

It has been found that the constant application of the preparations according to the invention gives the skin an anti-wrinkle effect, as well as a toning effect, which is noticed even after only a few weeks of application.

The product makes the skin elastic and alive, without giving rise to unfavorable effects.

The product keeps well without preservatives for a period of up to about 1 month.

For the conservation for longer periods it is necessary to add usual preservatives used in cosmetics, such as paraoxybenzoates and gallic acid esters.

Anti-wrinkle active agent consisting of the liquid distillate of the maceration product in white wine of herbs of Thymus serpyllum L. and flower and leaves of Malva silvestris, in a quantity in weight of 30 up to 70% of Thymus and 70 up to 30% of Malva compared to the total weight of the plants. 2. Active agent according to claim 1, wherein the quantities by weight of Thymus and mallow are substantially equal. 2 A liquid anti-wrinkle cosmetic preparation comprising a liquid active agent as claimed in one of claims 1 or 2 and furthermore the decoction liquid of Althaea officinalis L., in a volume ratio from about 1: 0.5 to 1: 5. 4.Anti-wrinkle liquid cosmetic preparation comprising, by volume, about 20% of an active agent as claimed in one of claims 1 or 2, about 30 to 70% of decoction liquid of roots and leaves of Althaea Officinalis L. and 50 10% of Achillea millefo-lium L. decoction liquid 5. Process for the preparation of an anti-wrinkle agent according to claim 1 or 2, comprising the operations of: macerating in a container containing white wine an amount of about 10 to 30 g of Thymus Serpyllum L. and a quantity of about 30 to at 10 g of Malva Silvestris, referred to 1 liter of white wine, for a few days at a temperature of about 30 ° C with stirring; then distil the macerated product at boiling temperature; and recover the distilled liquid.
