Abstract

The pipe (1) projecting above the brick-lined chimney bears an external heat insulation (2) which is delimited by a conical casing (3) with concave generatrices. Furthermore, an external pyramid-shaped casing (11) consisting of plane surfaces (12) is provided, which on the circumference side adjoin one another directly and form a closed casing. Pipe (1) and casing (11) are at a distance from one another so that an annular flowthrough duct (13) is formed which has different flowthrough cross-sections parallel to the axis of the chimney. Trials in a wind tunnel have demonstrated that, even in the case of extreme wind-loading, and in particular with regard both to its size and its direction of incidence, to an extremely great extent constant draught conditions can be maintained using this chimney top. <IMAGE>

   PATENTANSPRÜCHE

Fig. 1 einen Schornsteinaufsatz im Vertikalschnitt;
Fig. 2 ein rohrartiges Einsatzstück als Montageelement für den in Fig. 1 gezeigten Schornsteinaufsatz;
Fig. 3 den Schornsteinaufsatz nach Fig. 1 in Draufsicht;
Fig. 5 die Abwicklung dieses Mantels nach Fig. 4.

   PATENT CLAIMS
1. Chimney cap for central heating systems with atomizing burners with a pipe that protrudes from the top edge of a brick chimney and in this area carries an external thermal insulation, which is bounded on the outside by a conical jacket that tapers upwards, the generatrix of which is concave with respect to the axis of the pipe run and several flat surfaces are arranged along the circumference of the tube, which are inclined with respect to the axis of the tube and which project above the tube and which are axially distanced from its outer conical surface, the flat surfaces forming a closed pyramid-shaped surface, characterized in that the pyramid-shaped casing (11) is made from a rectangular sheet metal strip as a rough cut,

   and at least three bending lines (17, 17 ') are provided for each edge of the pyramid-shaped casing (11), of which the respective middle bending line (17') runs at right angles to the longitudinal edges (16, 18) of the sheet metal strip and the other two bending lines ( 17) are arranged obliquely thereto, and these oblique bending lines (17) starting from the point of intersection of the middle bending line (17 ') with the lower longitudinal edge (18) of the sheet metal strip against the upper longitudinal edge (16) of the sheet metal strip and with respect to the middle bending line (17 ') diverge by equal angular amounts, and the triangular sections delimited by the bending lines (17, 17') in the jacket produced by multiple bending operations are directed inwards and form air-directing webs (15),

   which are wedge-shaped in side view and have their highest height at the upper edge (16) of the pyramid-shaped casing (11) (FIGS. 4 and 5).

   2. chimney cap according to claim 1, characterized in that the pyramid-shaped casing (11) of eight flat surfaces (12) is formed.

   The invention relates to a chimney cap for central heating systems with atomizing burners with a pipe which protrudes from the upper edge of a brick chimney and carries in this area an external thermal insulation, which is bounded on the outside by an upwardly tapering conical jacket, the generator of which is opposite that The axis of the tube is concave and several flat surfaces are arranged along the circumference of the tube, which are inclined with respect to the axis of the tube and which project above the tube and which are axially distanced from its outer conical surface, the flat surfaces being closed form pyramid-shaped mantle.

   Chimneys for central heating systems are designed for an optimal working or operating point, which should be adhered to as precisely as possible so that the heating system can be operated with the highest possible efficiency, i.e. the draft conditions in such systems should be constant, regardless of the outside Weather influences, especially regardless of the strength of the winch and its direction of incidence, which flow around the chimney mouth. A chimney cap of the type mentioned at the outset is known from German patent specification 573 231 and such caps are capable of meeting the demands placed on them to a considerable extent.

  The construction known from the German patent specification 573 231 is made from a castable artificial stone material. The disadvantages of these chimney caps are their very high weight and the fact that they are complex to manufacture, for which molds are used. The molded parts must then be dried first and only then can they be stacked in storage rooms. These processes are time and space consuming and require multiple manipulations of the building structure, which make this object more expensive.

   It has therefore already begun to design such chimney caps made of sheet metal. If circumferentially closed parts with flat boundary surfaces were used in such attachments made of sheet metal, the individual flat boundary surfaces were cut with corresponding overhanging edges, the edges bent and the individual parts obtained in this way joined to form a circumferentially closed part by means of rivets, so that, for example, an eight plane Circumferential closed part with lateral surfaces had to be assembled from as many individual parts. Connecting webs and air deflection blades were also manufactured separately and connected to the other parts using rivets.

  This corresponds to a complex manufacturing process, and it should also be borne in mind that each riveted joint can be a critical and potential fault in such sheet metal parts.

   The invention is now aimed at a rational and simple manufacture of such a circumferentially closed part having flat boundary surfaces for a chimney cap described in the preamble of claim 1 and proposes to solve this problem that the pyramid-shaped jacket is made from a rectangular sheet metal strip as a tube blank, and at least three bending lines are provided for each edge of the pyramid-shaped jacket, of which the respective middle bending line runs at right angles to the longitudinal edges of the sheet metal strip and the two other bending lines are each arranged obliquely thereto,

   and these oblique bending lines starting from the point of intersection of the middle bending line with the lower longitudinal edge of the sheet metal strip and diverging by equal angular amounts with respect to the upper longitudinal edge of the sheet metal strip and with respect to the middle bending line, and the triangular sections delimited by the bending lines directed inwards in the jacket produced by multiple bending operations and form air-directing webs which are wedge-shaped in side view and have their highest height at the upper edge of the pyramid-shaped jacket.

   The drawing illustrates an embodiment of the invention. Show it:
Figure 1 shows a chimney cap in vertical section.
FIG. 2 shows a tubular insert as a mounting element for the chimney cap shown in FIG. 1;
Fig. 3 shows the chimney cap of Figure 1 in plan view.
Fig. 4 in an oblique view the pyramid-shaped jacket and
5 shows the development of this jacket according to FIG. 4.

   1 consists of a cylindrical tube 1 which, when properly installed, protrudes from the upper edge of a brick chimney, which is not shown here. This cylindrical tube 1 carries heat insulation 2 on the outside, which is delimited by a conical jacket 3, the generatrix of which is curved concavely with respect to the axis of the cylindrical tube 1. At the lower edge 4, this tube 1 carries connecting elements 5, with which this attachment with a mounting element 6 (Fig.

  2) is connectable. This mounting element 6 consists of an insert tube 7 with bent tabs 8, which is inserted into the upper mouth of the brick chimney.

  At the upper edge 9 of this mounting element 6 connecting elements 10 are provided, which are designed to correspond to the connecting elements 5 of the chimney cap. Such connections are known per se and therefore do not need to be explained in detail here.

   The cylindrical tube 1 with its heat insulating

  Sheath 2 is now surrounded by an outer pyramid-shaped sheath 11, which consists of individual flat surfaces 12. The embodiment shown here has eight such surfaces, which form a circumferentially closed jacket. This jacket 11 is spaced from the pipe 1 or its insulation 2 to form an annular through-flow channel 13 and projects over about half of its height from the upper edge 14 of the cylindrical tube 1. The lower edge 18 of the pyramidal jacket is from the lower edge 19 of the cylindrical Tube 1 also spaced apart to form an annular inflow channel. To guide the incoming air, this pyramid-shaped casing 1 has webs 15 on the inside, which are wedge-shaped in side view, the greatest height being at the upper edge 16 of the casing 11.

   The jacket 11 itself is expediently obtained from a rectangular sheet metal strip which is shown as a development in FIG. 5 in a top view. Here the bending lines 17, 17 'are shown in dashed lines. If this sheet metal strip is bent along the dashed bending lines 17, 17 'with a suitable tool, the pyramid-shaped jacket 11 shown in FIG. 4 in an oblique view, including the air guide webs 15, is obtained in a simple manner. At least three bending lines 17, 17 'are provided for each edge of the pyramid-shaped casing 11. The respective middle bending line 17 'runs at right angles to the longitudinal edges 16 and 18 of the
Sheet metal strip and the two other bending lines 17 each obliquely.

  These oblique bending lines 17 start from the intersection of the middle bending line 17 'with the lower longitudinal edge 18 of the sheet metal strip and extend to the upper longitudinal edge 16 of the sheet metal strip, where they diverge by the same angular amounts with respect to the middle bending line 17'. The triangular sections delimited by the bending lines 17 and 17 'are directed inwards in the case 11 made by multiple bending operations and thus form air-directing webs 15 which are wedge-shaped in side view and which have their highest height at the upper edge 16 of the pyramid-shaped jacket.

   The individual relationships of the diameter of the tube and the outer jacket, the distances and heights can be seen directly at least in terms of magnitude from FIGS. 1 and 3.

   Not shown in the figures, but possible in principle, is a possible covering above the upper edge 16 of the cone shell 11 at a corresponding distance from this edge in order to prevent the direct incidence of precipitation in the chimney.

The drawing illustrates an embodiment of the invention. Show it: Figure 1 shows a chimney cap in vertical section. FIG. 2 shows a tubular insert as a mounting element for the chimney cap shown in FIG. 1; Fig. 3 shows the chimney cap of Figure 1 in plan view. Fig. 4 in an oblique view the pyramid-shaped jacket and 5 shows the development of this jacket according to FIG. 4. Am unteren Rand 4 trägt dieses Rohr 1 Verbindungselemente 5, mit welchen dieser Aufsatz mit einem Montageelement 6 (Fig. 2) verbindbar ist. 2) is connectable. This mounting element 6 consists of an insert tube 7 with bent tabs 8, which is inserted into the upper mouth of the brick chimney. **WARNUNG** Ende CLMS Feld konnte Anfang DESC uberlappen**. At the upper edge 9 of this mounting element 6 connecting elements 10 are provided, which are designed to correspond to the connecting elements 5 of the chimney cap. Such connections are known per se and therefore do not need to be explained in detail here. ** WARNING ** End of CLMS field could overlap beginning of DESC **.
