Abstract

The composition comprises distinct solid particles of a vitreous thermoplastic polymeric matter, this polymeric matter comprising at least 51 % of at least one monomer chosen from monomers of acrylic type and monovinylidene aromatic monomers, this polymeric matter having a glass transition temperature of at least 50 DEG C and a particle diameter of 0.05 mu m to 50 mu m. The distinct solid particles of the polymeric matter are dispersed in a tackifier whose softening point is equal to or lower than room temperature. The polymeric matter and the tackifier are present in the composition in a ratio by weight of the polymeric matter to the tackifier of between 1/6 and 1/1. Application in particular to the manufacture of printing inks, of clear overprinting coatings, of adhesive coatings and of self-supporting shaped articles.
