Abstract
A motif, for example a monogram, is etched or ground into the base, for example a watch body made of stainless steel, and is galvanically filled with the insert material, preferably gold. Then the base is ground and polished together with the insert, until both parts are flush with one another. A method of this type makes it possible to produce inserts with a great variety of shapes in a simple and economical fashion.
