Abstract

In a clockwork movement including an hour hand driven for example by a motor and mounted on an hour wheel arranged beneath the dial, a pinion (16) is driven onto the pipe of the hour wheel. This pinion drives an intermediate runner whose wheel (15) is solid with a finger (17). Once every revolution this finger actuates an eccentric display runner (18) which carries a central shaft passing through the dial and fitted with a hand at its upper end. This hand indicates the date on an eccentric hour circle in the dial. The eccentric display runner (18) also carries a pinion (19) which engages with a centred annulus (20) arranged beneath the dial. Depending on the meshing ratio between the pinion (19) and the annulus (20), this annulus can make one revolution in one year or one revolution in ten lunations, so that the annulus (20) can be used as display member for annual indications such as the signs of the zodiac, the months, or fixed reference dates during the year, or as display member for the phases of the moon. By also modifying the meshing ratio between the pinion (16) and the disc (15), it is possible to obtain a display of the phases of the moon with the eccentric display member (18), and with the central display member (20), the indication of the signs of the zodiac or of fixed reference dates. <IMAGE>
