Abstract

The watch includes the ordinary hour (1), minute (2) and second (3) hands, but also has a supplementary hour hand (8) which makes one complete rurn in 24 hours. This extra hand indicates its reading on a fixed scale (9) extending to 24. A further outer ring (11) carries a further scale extending to 24 and maybe turned to a required position. A further annular ring (13) makes a turn in 23.9344 hours, and this makes 366 turns per year in order to carry the signs of the zodiac. ADVANTAGE - Avoids the need for a demultiplier mechanism to make one element turn once per year to control zodiac signs.
