Abstract

The primary hot water outlet from a boiler is fed to a three-way valve. The valve position determines the proportions of water flowing to the radiator system and the hot water heat exchanger. The return pipes from the radiators and the heat exchanger are fed back by a pump to the boiler. Cold water from the mains passes through the exchanger to the domestic hot taps. The system control unit receives inputs from temp. sensors in the hot water jacket and in the primary hot water supply pipe. It has an internal clock and selection inputs for temps. The unit controls the fuel inlet valve, the pump motor and the three-way valve drive motor.
