The invention relates to a method for operating a match stop device according to the preamble of the first independent claim and a device according to the preamble of the second independent claim.
Such a method is known, for example, from patent application EP-A1 0 322 636. The fuse is clamped between a fixed and a moving part, the clamping force must be so great that the frictional force exerted on the fuse in the clamping point is greater than the tensile strength of the fuse. The actuation of the fuse stop device causes the fuse to tear at the nip or below the nip. The clamping force is built up in the exemplary embodiment according to the European patent application mentioned in that the pivot lever is mounted at a point with the greatest possible distance from its center of gravity. Depending on the strength of the fuse to be clamped, the swivel lever must have a comparatively high mass so that it can exert the clamping force required to stop the fuse.
This means that the magnetic holding device for the swivel lever also has to be dimensioned relatively large. Previous devices of the same type (e.g. according to CH 680 454-A) require high clamping forces in order to bring the fuse to a standstill at a certain point. Downstream from this point, the fuse is moved further by the pulling action of the drafting system, so that the fuse breaks at the clamping point. If the sliver stop device is deactivated again after a stopping process, the detection of the sliver by an automatic handling device or by hand can be problematic if the sliver is torn directly in the clamping point because the clamping point is difficult to access. Match stops normally use the pulling action of the drafting system, which pulls the fuse from the template into the spinning station in order to tear the fuse.
Since no replenishment is provided, the material flow can usually be interrupted upstream from the crack, and the fuse is in an undefined position.
It is an object of the present invention to provide a method for operating a match stop device which avoids the disadvantages mentioned. The device should be as light as possible. The object is achieved by a method according to the features of the independent claim. The dependent claims relate to advantageous designs of the device.
The invention is described below with reference to FIGS. 1 to 6 in detail. Exemplary embodiments are explained for the guide elements.
Show it:
Fig. 1 is a side view of a preferred embodiment of the match stop device in a first state
FIG. 2 shows a detail of the device according to FIG. 1
Fig. 3 is a front view of this device
Fig. 4 is a view similar to Fig. 1, but with the device in a second state
Fig. 5 shows a detail for explaining the operation of the device according to FIGS. 1 to 4, and
6 shows a similar detail of the system after the fuse has been torn.
The match stop device according to the invention has the effect that the match is braked with guide elements which can be moved relative to one another and at the same time material is accumulated at the braking point. The braking effect or the accumulation means that the continuity of the thinned fuse downstream of the braking point (with undiminished traction of the drafting system) can no longer be maintained. The fuse is therefore pulled apart at a point between the braking point and the drafting system, i.e. the device generates warping forces which exceed the cohesive forces of the thinned fuse.
The required braking effect can be generated by a sharp, non-rounded edge (e.g. edge 162, Fig. 3). A similar effect could e.g. caused by a roughened edge or an edge with smaller teeth.
The match stop device 139 is fastened on a rail 140, which extends through all spinning positions in the longitudinal direction of the machine. The rail comprises a sheet 142, the front of which is perpendicular to the sliver run 102. A coil 144 is attached to the back of the sheet 142, which coil can be energized to generate an electromagnetic field. The coil surrounds an iron core 146, which is also attached to the sheet 142.
The device contains a drop flap 148 which is rotatably mounted on a pivot axis 150, which in turn is fastened to the rear of the rail 140 by suitable supports, not shown. A permanent magnet 152 is attached to the head of the rocker arm and, by interacting with the iron core 146, normally holds the flap 148 in the upright position shown in FIG. 1.
In the latter state, the flap is located completely behind the plate 142, so that the sliver barrel (in front of the plate 142) is released. As long as a fuse 102 is present, it runs between the sheet 142 and a wire arch 154 which limits the distance of the fuse from the sheet 142. End portions 155 of the wire arch extend parallel to and are attached to the front of the sheet 142.
The lower part of the flap 148 shown in FIG. 1 is provided with a foot 156 angled forwards and a signal flag 158. The plate 142 has a recess 160 at the lower edge, so that when the flap 148 is tilted in the counterclockwise direction (FIG. 1), the foot part of the lever emerges from the rail 140. The foot 156 is pressed against the fuse 102. If there was no fuse, the leading edge 162 of the foot 156 would contact the foremost part of the arch wire 154 (Fig. 3). The actual process is described below with reference to FIGS. 4 and 5, but for the time being the actuation of the match stop device is described.
The upper part of the rail 140 contains a print 164 which carries conductor tracks and connecting pins 166 for the coils 144. Each pair of connection pins 166 is connected to a coil 144, so that a printed circuit can supply a row of coils 144 with power via connecting conductors (not shown). This happens when the print receives a corresponding control signal from the machine center from the section distributor or, if need be, directly from the thread sensor of the assigned spinning station.
An electromagnetic field is generated by a current surge triggered by the print, which repels the permanent magnet 152. As a result, the flap 148 is tilted so far from the upright position that its own weight continues the tilting movement in the counterclockwise direction in order to push the foot 156 against the fuse. In the preferred embodiment, when the flap 148 is upright (FIG. 1), an air gap 168 remains free between the permanent magnet 152 and the iron core 146.
This encourages the flap to be knocked over when the coil 144 is excited.
When the foot 156 comes into contact with the fuse 102, the wire arch 154 prevents the fuse from evading. The rotation of the flap 148 in the counterclockwise direction causes the fuse to be deflected somewhat and now has to squeeze through a constriction between the front edge 162 of the foot 156 and the wire arch 154 (FIG. 4). Edge fibers 170 of the fuse are peeled off at the edge 162 and accumulated (FIG. 4). The fuse 102 downstream of the constriction is thinned accordingly.
The peeling and accumulation of the edge fibers is a progressive process, so that the jammed fibers increase and the sliver that is still running becomes thinner and thinner. This causes the fuse to tear below the constriction, with the edge 162 not coming into contact with the wire arch. Rather, a fiber tail 172 (FIG. 5) remains threaded in the constriction. This drooping fiber tail 172 can be gripped when re-spinning and (after resetting the match stop device) drawn into the spinning position.
The fiber-stopping edge 156 could otherwise be pushed into the sliver run without a drop flap 148 by a linearly movable element. However, the drop flap represents a space-saving solution, especially where the function of a signal flag 158 is desired. The flag shown is clearly visible from the service aisle after actuating the match stop device. The drop flap also enables the optimal use of its own weight, whereby the magnet system is only required to trigger the movement. The magnet system is advantageously designed in accordance with EP-A1 0 322 636.
