<tb>a)<sep>se munir d un barreau;
<tb>b)<sep>monter ledit barreau sur un tour;
<tb>c)<sep>déplacer le barreau en rotation selon une vitesse déterminée;

Description détaillée
The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing an elastic means and more particularly such a means of the amorphous metal type.
Technological background
It is known in the prior art to produce helical springs amorphous material. However, these methods of making springs use hot forming and / or injection.
However, these methods, even if they are simple enough to implement, have disadvantages. Indeed, for these two methods, molds or dies are necessary. However, helical springs being of complex shapes, so it has an impact on the shape and cost of these molds. This complexity is added to the fact that the springs require, in particular for watchmaking, millimeter sizes.
Thus, in the case of springs having wire sections smaller than one millimeter, it is almost impossible to achieve them by injection. Indeed, the filling of a mold having an aspect ratio, ie its section relative to its length as small is very difficult to manufacture.
In addition, this is contradictory with the need for rapid cooling to obtain the amorphous structure. Indeed, during the filling of the mold, a solid plug could be formed before the complete filling of the mold due to the rapid cooling that will undergo the metal thus cast.
In the case of hot forming, the problem comes from the surplus of essential material to ensure perfect filling of the mold. This surplus is then very difficult to eliminate on a form as complicated as a coil spring for example.
Another disadvantage is that each mold corresponds to a single type of spring. Indeed, the flexibility of the dimensions of the spring is obtained by changing the mold, so each length or spring diameter is a mold. This implies, to have a range of complete springs, a large number of molds and therefore significant costs.
Summary of the invention
The invention relates to a method of manufacturing a spring which overcomes the aforementioned drawbacks of the prior art by providing a method of manufacturing a spring which is both simple and inexpensive to manufacture. In addition, the method allows the manufacture of different types of spring without changing the tooling.
For this purpose, the invention relates to a method of manufacturing a spring, characterized in that it comprises the following steps:
<tb> (a) <sep> get a bar;
<tb> b) <sep> mounting said bar on a lathe;
<tb> c) <sep> move the bar in rotation according to a determined speed;
<tb> d) <sep> applying at least one cutting means on said bar; and
<tb> e) <sep> translating said at least one cutting means relative to the bar with a predetermined feed rate to produce a chip forming said elastic means.
Advantageously, this amorphous metal spring manufacturing method is much simpler than the methods according to the prior art. Indeed, the manufacturing method according to the present invention uses the turning which is very simple to implement.
On the other hand, this method, in addition to its ease of implementation, is inexpensive. Indeed, it requires a minimum number of tools and little technical.
Advantageous embodiments of this method of manufacturing a spring are the subject of dependent claims 2 to 17.
This advantage in terms of costs is further accentuated by the flexibility of the present method of manufacture since the same tool can be used to make several springs by changing only for example the dimensions of the bar of amorphous metal or those of the medium of cutting or positioning said means which determine the dimensions of said chip and therefore the spring.

detailed description
FIG. 1 shows the device 1 used to manufacture the spring according to the present invention. This device comprises a tower I comprising a base 2 supporting a doll 3 on which is installed a drive shaft 4.
This doll 3 also supports a pole 5 on which is fixed a tailstock 6. This against-doll 6 is slidably mounted on said pole 5 in order to adapt in length to the size of the piece to to work. In order to pinch this piece, the tailstock 6 is provided with a pin 7 mounted free to rotate. The axis of said pin 7 is then the same as that of the shaft 4 carried by the doll 3.
The pole 5 is also used to support a fastening mechanism 8 for a cutting means 9 such as a chisel 9. This fastening mechanism 8 is intended to position the chisel 9 relative to the shaft pin 7 shaft 4.
According to the method of the present invention, it is first necessary to provide a bar 10 to machine it for the purpose of producing a spring. Preferably, this bar 10 is made of amorphous material, for example of the precious type or one of these alloys. Such a precious material may be for example gold, platinum, palladium, rhenium, ruthenium, rhodium, silver, iridium or osmium.
Once this rod 10 is made, it is mounted on the lathe 1, pinch between the pin 7 and the shaft 4. It is of course made so that the axis of the cylindrical rod 10 is coincident with the axes of pin 7 and the shaft 4.
Following this, said bar 10 is rotated according to the desired speed VR. The latter is preferably between 1 and 50 m.min <-> <1>. When the bar 10 has reached a stabilized rotation speed VR, cutting means 9 are applied to said bar 10 in order to produce a chip 11 as shown in FIG. 2. These cutting means 9 may for example be in the form of a chisel 9.
According to a first embodiment, the chisel 9 is depressed to a specific depth and then translated along the bar 10. A chip 11 thus formed then takes the form of a spring.
Indeed, an amorphous metal, by the absence of crystalline structure allows the realization of chip 11 very long and very good regularity without breaking.
On the other hand, this spring manufacturing process is also very flexible since the dimensions of the chip 11 used as a spring are easily modifiable.
Indeed, the depth of penetration of the chisel 9 in said bar 10 determines the thickness of the section of the chip 11 while the profile of the end of the chisel 9 cutting the bar 10 determines the length of the section of the chip 11. Just as the angle of attack of the chisel 9 on the bar 10 can be chosen in order to adapt the geometry of the chip 11.
In addition, at a constant rotational speed VR, the translation speed VA makes it possible to achieve the desired number of turns. Indeed, this translation is carried out at a predetermined feedrate VA and allows to define the spacing between the turns. There is thus a correlation between the advance speed VA and the spacing between the turns, this correlation being that the higher the feedrate VA is, the greater the spacing between the turns. This can be explained by the fact that the number of turns is related to the number of turns made by said bar 10 during the translation of said chisel 9. Thus, for a high feedrate VA, the number of turns made during the translation will be low so the chip 11 will have only few turns.
Conversely, for a slow feedrate VA, the number of turns made during the translation will be high, so the chip 11 will have a higher number of turns. It is therefore understood that the spring 11 manufactured will have for the slow speed more turns and therefore a pitch between the turns smaller than for the high speed. Thus, it is possible to modify the characteristics of the springs 11 by changing the speed VA, it is not necessarily uniform over the entire translation. It is then possible to make different types of springs, such as compression springs and traction for example.
In a preferred embodiment, the feedrate VA is between 0.005 and 2 m.min <-> <1> while the speed of rotation VRis it between 1 and 50 m.min <-> <1> which gives a ratio VR / VA which is between 150 to 1000. Of course, other speeds of rotation VR and advance VA can be envisaged.
In addition, the dimensions of the bar 10 itself allow to modify the dimensions of the chip 11.
On the other hand, the turns that make up the spring 11 manufactured according to the present invention, are not necessarily uniform. It can be provided to modify the spacing between the turns by modifying the speed of advance VAor of rotation VR during the realization of said spring 11. Similarly, the diameter of the spring may not be constant over the entire spring 11.11 is then it is possible to make conical springs by modifying the position of the angle of attack of the chisel 9 with respect to the bar 10 during the translation.
In a first variant shown in FIG. 3, it is expected that a plurality of cutting means 9 are used. Indeed, in order to increase productivity, the multiplication of the number of cutting means 9 makes it possible to produce several chips 11 at the same time. In this first variant, the distribution of the multitude of cutting means 9 is axial and coplanar. Preferably, the cutting means 9 are distributed in a central symmetry. Thus, for two cutting means 9, these are diametrically opposed, for three cutting means 9, they are arranged all 120 [deg.] And so on.
In a second embodiment, the translation of the cutting means 9 is not longitudinal but radial. Indeed, if a longitudinal advance allows the realization of a helical spring, a radial advance allows for a spiral spring. In the case of a radial translation, the cutting means 9 are pressed more and more into the bar 10. The rotation speed VR is then modified in order to keep a chip rate 11 constant. Indeed, as and when cutting, the circumference of the bar decreases. Therefore, the rotational speed VR of the bar 10 must be increased progressively, so that the chip 11 manufactured, is substantially uniform. When the cutting means 9 are no longer depressed, the chip 11 eventually detaches.
Of course, this embodiment can also be used with a multitude of cutting means 9, these being placed along the bar 10 as shown in FIG. 4. Of course, the distribution of these cutting means 9 may be equidistant or not and coplanar or not.
In a variant, the chip 11 is etched, after its manufacture, for example in an acid bath. This acid bath has several functions. Firstly, this bath of acid makes it possible to act on the shape of the chip 11. In fact, by immersing said chip 11 in an acid bath, the chip 11 will then be modified at its size, the acid remover. In addition, it also eliminates the burrs that may be present following the manufacture of the chip 11. This acid bath is a simple way to change the dimensions of the chip 11, especially its shape and section. And particularly, plunging the spring 11 in an acid bath makes it possible to achieve very fine geometries that would be impossible or very difficult to obtain with a chisel 9.
Secondly, the acid bath eliminates the crystalline elements of the chip 11. In fact, during the production of these chips 11, it is possible that the friction of the chisel 9 on the bar 10 causes a heating of the latter, even in the presence of lubrication. This heating should normally result in crystallization of the chip 11 if the cooling is not fast enough. In fact, this crystallization when it is present, is only partial and essentially located on the chip periphery 11. Thus, when the chip 11 is immersed in the acid, the latter will dissolve the chip 11 in part. starting with its periphery and thus eliminate the crystalline parts. Preferably, it is a hydrofluoric acid bath that will be used. Of course, other acids are possible.
It will be understood that various modifications and / or improvements and / or combinations obvious to those skilled in the art can be made to the various embodiments of the invention described above without departing from the scope of the invention defined by the appended claims.
