Description

Transparent protector for dial and clock hands, pendulum etc. The object of the invention is a transparent protector of the dial and the hands of a watch, pendulum etc., characterized by the combination of two transparent plates, one flexible (for example made of celluloid), serving as a support for the second, which is made of a harder material than the first (for example glass).

The accompanying drawing shows several embodiments of the object of the invention, given by way of example.

Each of fig. 1 to 7 shows one of these embodiments, in cross section; Fig. 8 shows, in cross section, a flexible plate intended to receive the plate of harder material, which is intended to be crimped into the first; Fig. 10 shows a variant of the plate shown in FIG. 8.

In the embodiment of FIG. 1, 10 is a celluloid plate, provided with a rim 12 in which is crimped a glass plate 11 with bevelled edge. The two plates are applied exactly A 'on top of each other so that the support plate 10 helps the glass plate 11 to withstand impact. On the other hand, the plate 11, which is not easily scratched, protects the plate 10 against scratches.

In .fig. 2 the rim 12 of the support plate 10 has an edge 13, projecting inwardly and resting on the glass plate 11.

In fig. 3 it is the glass plate 11 which has a flange 15, arranged to engage in detent with a bearing 14 of the celluloid plate 10.

Fig. 4 shows a celluloid plate 10 the underside of which is concave and which has a flat recess 16 with rim 17 in which the edge of the glass plate 11 engages.

Fig. 5 shows an embodiment comprising a plate 10 of celluloid, provided with a circle 20 intended to rest on the dial when said plate is fixed in the glass bezel, and a rim 19 in which engages, notch, the glass plate 11. The plate 10 being flat and the plate 11 convex, an intermediate space 18 results which has the advantage of preventing the formation of mist on the transparent cover.

In fig. 6 parts 10 and 11 are both flat; they are arranged so as to form an empty space 18 and housed in a ring 21 before a lower rim 22 placed under the lower surface of 10. a rim 23 being arranged between 10 and 11 to keep them apart and a bevelled part 24 s 'engaging with the periphery of the pla que. 11 in the same way as a. ordinary glass engages in the notch of a usual bezel.

In fig. 7 the plate 11 is thicker than 10 and it has a recess 25 in which the rim 26 formed by the raising of the edge 11 engages in a notch.

Fig. 8 shows, in section, a celluloid plate provided with a folded rim 21 intended to serve simultaneously to retain the glass plate 11, shown in FIG. 9 and engage in the notch of a glass bezel.

Fig. 10 shows a variant of fig. 8, of which the double-folded rim 22 is formed so as to be gripped in ni) deep notch of a telescope, so as to remain engaged therein, even if there plate 10 and its rim 22 are withdrawn under the action of temperature changes.
