Description

Cleaning utensil. The present invention relates to a cleaning utensil, characterized by a support comprising a plate provided on its edge with hooks corresponding to stapling members of a cleaning device, means being provided to ensure the attachment of the positive device to the support. .

The accompanying drawing represents, by way of example, one embodiment of the object of the invention and two variants of a detail.

Fig. 1 is a perspective view of said embodiment, FIG. 2 is a view. perspective of the support of FIG. 1; Figs. 3 and 4 respectively show a front view and a side view of the embossing members; Fig. 5 is a top view of a first variant of FIG. 2; Fig. 6 is a perspective view of the second variant.

In fig. 1, 2, 3 and 4, the support com carries a plate 1 of stamped sheet metal, for view on its edge of a fold against which the cleaning device is fixed. The sides of the plate converge towards the front, a notch 2 extends longitudinally from the rear end to about the middle of the plate, a tongue 3 pierced with a hole 6 stands vertically on one edge of the notch 2, perpendicular to the plate.

A corresponding tab 4, which can be cut out of another piece of metal (for example in the one that falls after cutting the notch 2), is fixed to the opposite edge of the notch, so as to form with the previous one a pair of jaws for fixing the handle of my work 5, it is also pierced with a hole 6. These holes correspond with a hole in the handle and are used for the passage of a bolt 7 which forms a pivot for adjusting the position angular position of the support plate with respect to the handle 5.

By tightening a thumbscrew 8 on the bolt, the handle is fixed in the desired position, while by tightening it, it can be adjusted in another position, either above or below the handle. support plate (the notch 2 allowing this last position) or parallel to it. The utensil can thus be used both for cleaning floors, the tops of suspended objects, and for cleaning under furniture. The removable tab 4 is fixed to the plate by small ears 9 passing through the slots of the plate 1 and folded over it.

The edge 10 of the plate 1 is folded down so as to form a flange at the front on its sides, at the rear end and over part of the length of the notch 2. The folded edge 10 serves to the attachment of the cleaning device.

-A piece of fabric 11, constituting the upper edge of the cleaning device, forms the fold 12; it is applied around the glue rette of the plate 1 so that its two ends enter the two opposite sides of the notch 2, and the part of the piece of fabric 11 is firmly fixed to the glue rette. One method of attachment consists in cutting tabs 13 (three sides of a rectangle) in the collar, or in bringing them back together. These tabs are curved so as to form spaced hooks that can penetrate into the stapling members of the cleaning device.

Each of these members is constituted by a keeper 14, the ends 16 of which pass through two plates 15, one on each side of the fabric, and are riveted thereto; part of each keeper 14 is folded as shown in FIG. 4, the adjacent plate being of reverse shape so as to form a stapling member allowing the passage of the hook.

The stapling members can therefore be engaged in the tongues 13 of the plate 1 so as to be securely held there, and can also be released therefrom to remove the cleaning device or replace it. 18 is a pressure button, the cup 19 of which is fixed to the piece of fabric 11, it ensures the absolute fixing of the latter to the plate, preventing the hooks from disengaging from the stapling members which could be replaced by buttonholes made in the fabric. Any other suitable method of attachment may be employed and there may be more than one press stud.

The plate 1 is made from a single piece of metal, and the only parts which must be riveted to complete the support are the pressure button or buttons 18 and one of the fixing tabs 4. The top of the plate 1 has a surface which can be decorated in a suitable manner, a label bearing a trade mark can also be applied thereto.

Fig. 5 shows another embodiment of the hooks which are formed by iron rods 21, passing through appropriate holes in the collar and curved so that their ends 22 are parallel to it, while the parts of the rods 21 com taken between their ends are located inside the collar. An additional short rod 23 surrounds, at 24, the longer rod 21, and its other end is passed through the folded edge 10 to form an additional hook. According to this mode of execution, the hooks are not an integral part of the edge 10.

Fig. 5 shows the watch strip 3 projecting transversely across the notch 2, on one of the edges of the latter, before being bent upwards at right angles to the stamped part; perforations 25 allow the tab 4 to be fixed to the plate 1. A part of this tab 4 is placed under the plate 1; it carries on its edge small cut ears 9 which have passed through the perforations 25 and riveted as shown in FIG. 3.

Fig. 6 shows a wooden plate 27 provided, on its perimeter, with a metal strip 28 which is fixed to it by screws not shown, this strip is provided with lan guettes 3 and 4, it is used for fixing the dis positive cleaning at the plate. One method of attachment consists in making notches at intervals in the metal strip 28 to form tabs 13 which are bent to form a series of hooks on which the stapling members of a polishing device can be engaged, thus as described above. Instead of stamping the hooks in the metal strip, they can be established separately and riveted there.

In another embodiment, not shown, the metal strip is omitted, the hooks being fixed to the actual edge of the wooden plate, using screws or nails.

The tic wooden plate does not necessarily have a notch at the back as shown; in the event that this notch is removed, the handle is screwed into the block in any suitable manner.

In other embodiments, the cleaning utensil may take the form of a broom, a broom. a rub, a smoother, etc.
