Description

Process for the representation of chrome yellow using chromium waste liquor. It is known that the chromium waste liquor from the anthraquinone, camphor and similar factories is electrolytically regenerated according to M. Le Blanc (German patent No. 182228'7, Z. f. Elektrochem. 7, 290, 1900). The same aim of the methods of the German patent nos. 103860, 117949, 138441, 251694, but which have hardly found their way into technology.

. The processes known even earlier were intended to precipitate the chromium hydroxide and then convert it into calcium cliromat by calcining with lime with air admission. However, these processes, which would also have to be used for chromium waste liquors in leather factories, were uneconomical due to the large amount of fuel consumed and the loss of all the sulfuric acid when the calcium chromate was converted into alkali salts. So far, the waste liquors from the leather factories have not been used at all.

The purpose of the present invention is the processing of the chromium waste liquor on chrome yellow. It consists in a process for the representation of chrome yellow, according to which chromium waste liquor in the presence of an alkali salt by means of an oxidizing agent, such as. B. chlorine or a hypochlorite, are oxidized in the heat and the resulting oxidized waste liquors with a lead compound, such as. B. lead oxide or a lead salt, are implemented in the cold.

Example 1000 liters of chromium waste liquor are mixed with 212 kg of sodium acetate in a tub lined with lead, and the solution is heated to 451 C. 27 kg of chlorine are passed into this solution, the solution is cooled and 100 kg of lead sugar are added. The chrome yellow quickly settles on the ground, is decanted several times, filtered and dried. Yield approx. 10% of the used chromium waste liquor.
