Description

Insulated electrical cable with airtight, folded protective jacket made of metal. The present invention relates to an iso profiled electrical line with a protective jacket, which consists of a sheet metal strip made of resistant metal, which encloses the insulation firmly and airtight. According to the invention, this sheet metal strip is welded along its seam after a first fold and folded again.

Such a line has the advantage that it. Can be laid anywhere, even in very wet places, because the seam of the protective jacket is hermetically sealed by welding. It is achieved that absolutely no moisture can penetrate the interior of the line and have a detrimental effect on the insulating compound, which is a major disadvantage, for example, with the previously known lines with only folded metal sheath. These last lines, as well as those with a soldered metal jacket, also have the further disadvantage that the seam easily cracks open when they are bent.

This is not the case with the line forming the subject of the invention, and therefore it can not only be produced in any length, but also used in these and casually.

FIGS. I and 8 show an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention in a longitudinal view and in cross section, while FIGS. 1 to 3 show a partial longitudinal view. and FIGS. 5 to 7 illustrate various stages of the production of this embodiment in the transverse line.

r n. are the individually insulated and in common insulating material, which can be of any cross-section. c is the protective sheath consisting of a sheet metal strip, made of resistant metal, e.g. B. zinc, aluminum, brass, copper, etc.

This jacket originally (Fig. 1 and 5) has two radially projecting ribs d \, d2 of unequal height. As a result, the higher rib d2 with its part protruding over the lower rib d1 is first bent in the direction of the latter (Figs. 2 and 6).

In this position, the two ribs are electrically welded to one another and combined to form a single rib (FIGS. 3 and 7). bi, - e then becomes unigeleo, t (Fi <o,. 1 and 8) close to the unifang of the coat.

They urin but also to be pressed inwards, so that the coat also remains round.

In the manner described, an airtight jacket is obtained. Since (as visual welding takes place while the ribs d ', as a fold, protrude radially from the protective jacket, the heat generated does not have a damaging influence on the insulation of the line, an advantage that is not available in any other process.

In addition, since no acids and the like are needed for welding, there is no damage to the line from this. The new protective mantle united; in itself the two advantages that it firstly protects the line from mechanical influences and secondly seals it completely airtight or protects it from atmospheric influences. In the liislier known lines, z. B.

Lead cable, the line is sealed off in an air tight manner by the lead sheath, but is not sufficiently cleared so that the lead sheath does not have the necessary strength against mechanical influences.

Therefore, a lead with a lead jacket needs special protection, for example a fitting or ILal) -1- l @anal.

The cable provided with this new Seliutzinantel will replace the armored and non-armored lead cables in many places for the aforementioned properties. Namely, because they are much cheaper to manufacture than lead cables.
