Puis on reh@@he les eontrcpoids 18, qui avaient été pré;a1ablemef relevés, pour amener les forets en i@onlaet aS:E@e la pièce;
Macfue semi-automatic to center and to drill the centers. The invention relates to a semi-automatic machine for centering and drilling centers, in which the two center drills, rotating at the same speed and in an opposite direction, advance simultaneously and automatically independently of each other. to the other, allowing one drill bit cutting less to penetrate to the same depth as the other operating at the same time.
In the accompanying drawing is shown, by way of example, one embodiment of the machine.
Fig. 1 shows the machine seen from the front; Figs. 2 and .3 are side views on a larger scale.
The machine comprises a prismatic bench 1 on which can move the reels 2 and 3 carrying the drill holders II. 5 is a support, also mobile, carrying the device for fixing the part to be centered A.
This device is formed by two jaws 6 and 7 with a V notch, both adjustable in height by pins 8 and 9 subjected to the tightening of screws 10 and 11. The mor- @IacIie 6 is fixed, while due la. jaw 7 is integral with an arm 12 oscillating at 13, around the following part 14 adjustable in height.
the diameter of the workpiece. The lever arm 12 carries at its extremity an adjustable weight 15 which ensures the immobility of the part during the operation. On the reels 2 and 3 are wedged the control pulleys 9.6 of the drill-holder shafts., Which carry at their free end adjustable stops 17.
The advancement of the drill shafts is obtained by means of the counterweights 18 of the levers 19, adjustable by means of screws 20. These levers 1.9 pass through axes 21 which start by means of pinions, racks formed on the bearing shafts-and. (This drive mode is not shown in the drawing, since it is known and can be arbitrary.) The machine operates as follows: For a given job, the location of the reels 2 and 3 and support 5.
The jaw 7 is raised to place the piece to be centered A against the adjustable stopper B, and the jaw is folded down. This wedges the folded part, or less strongly depending on. the pressure which is given by the counterweight.
Then we reh @@ he eontrcpoids 18, which had been previously raised, to bring the drills in i @ onlaet aS: E @ e the part;
the control being dozi.rée aui, drill-holder shafts., the drills are avar: eés automatically by the counterweights 15 which lower simultaneously, the cutting of the drills being adjusted in depth by the stops 1'i. It will suffice to return the conb! Epoids 18 to their starting point, by a reverse maneuver, to release the drills from part A.
The latter, suitably centered, will be easily removed after simply raising the oscillating lever arm 12. The advancement of the drills during drilling is still simultaneous even if the speed of rotation of the drills is not the same, since they are controlled at the same time. If one of the drills finishes its drilling before the other, it will go crazy until the second drill has finished its work, closely following the work of the first drill.
