magnetoelectric machine. This invention relates to a high voltage magneto-electric ignition machine. According to the invention, the coil is placed directly without the interposition of pole pieces in the magnetic field of a single permanent magnet, the side branches of which are joined at their upper end by a flat part. This magnet, which does not have attached pole pieces, is hand held between plates, one of which carries the breaking members.
This arrangement ensures better protection of the organs arranged inside the magneto, while achieving a simple construction.
In the appended drawing which shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the magneto :.
Fig. 1 is a longitudinal section of the magneto along the axis 0-P of FIG. 6; Fig. 2 is a front view, the magneto being closed; Fig. 3 is a rear view, the magneto being closed; Fig. 4 is a cross section along DI-N, fig. 6; . Fig. 5. Is a rear view, showing the breaking device; F.ig. 6 is a view from below; Fig. 7 is a front view of the rupture device.
The magneto comprises a base 1, forming at the same time a back plate, and on this single body is housed without any screws the permanent magnet 2, the side branches of which are joined at their upper end by a flat part and which is held by the front plate 3, fixed on the base 1. The plates supporting the magnet are made of non-magnetic metal, for example aluminum.
Inside the housing formed by the plates. Is mounted, near the front plate 3, a large distribution pinion 4, on ball bearing 5, fixed by a clamping ring 6 in which is embedded a felt 7. This pinion is engaged with a pinion 4 ', wedged on the shaft of the magneto.
8 is the armature of the magneto on which is arranged between a front disk 9 and a rear disk 10, the coil 34 in such a way that it is located directly, without the interposition of pole pieces, in the magnetic field of the magnet 2. On the disc 10 is mounted, using a central screw 11, a positive rupture device shown in section in FIG. 1, and seen from the front in FIG. 5 and 7.
The rupture disc 12 of the device is integral with a spring support 13, on which is mounted a spring 14, working in bending. Another spring 15, also mounted on the support 13, is intended to limit the stroke of the breaking lever 16 pivoting around a journal 16 'having the same axis as the fulcrum of the spring 15. The strongest part of the lever 16 is disposed opposite a stop 17 integral with the disc 12. This arrangement of the breaking lever and of the members intended to limit its movements makes the assembly very robust and ensures high operating safety of the lever.
On the head of the screw II (fig. 1) comes a setting wiper. mass 1.8, hand held using a screw 19 comprising a washer 20, the assembly being tightened using a nut 21.
On the rear plate 1 is fixed a brush holder 22, made of ebonite or other suitable insulating material, the brush of which is in connection with a rotary carbon brush 24, housed obligatorily in a rotary brush holder 23 solid with the distributor pinion 4 This brush is arranged opposite a spark distributor 25 (fig. \?) In which sockets 26 for the cylinders are embedded, and an additional socket 27 for the use case. 'a starting magneto.
The connection of the armature to the external circuit is obtained by the carbon brush placed at. inside the support 22 and which bears on the usual ring mounted in a mask in the form of an insulating louse in the usual manner, the second connection taking place by the contact 18.
29 is the housing of the magneto (fig. 1), which is fitted with a lubricating tube 30, closed by a cover 31. A surge arrester and an earthed carbon are placed respectively at points 32 and 33 (fig. 5) .
