<B><I>81,</I></B> S2 und<B>83</B> sind feststehende Segment ringe.
Die Bürste bi ist mittelst eines Schleifringkontaktes a unmittelbar oder über ein (nicht dargestelltes) Relais mit der Linienleitung L verbunden, Während die Bürste bi die Kontaktstücke si und s2 nach einander beispielsweise in der Richtung des Pfeiles bestreicht, werden die Kondensatoren ki und 1c2 aufgeladen;
Telegraphic type print receiver, in which the character to be printed is formed by a combination of several current pulses. The invention relates to receivers for type printing telegraphs in which the characters to be printed are transmitted through a combination of several consecutive streams. Such devices have been used in which two groups of the number corresponding to the number of elements of a character, mostly polarized relays are alternately connected to the line line by a switching device on the pickup collector.
It is placed on the relay of one group, the incoming character, while the armature of the relay of the other group of the combination collector closed circuit of the pressure runs electromagnet.
According to the invention, one of these relay groups is avoided and the switching device simplified, - that a capacitor and a relay are provided for each sign element, which are temporarily connected to one another by the switching device in such a way that the capacitors charged as a result of the lines send the charging current through their relays.
The time at which the capacitors are discharged depends on the type of print telegraph. In the case of single telegraphs, for example, the discharge must take place between the recording of two consecutive characters in order to enable uninterrupted sending of characters. In the case of multiple telegraphs that work in sections, on the other hand, the whole time is theoretically available for discharging a group of capacitors, during which the incoming characters are stored by other groups. In practice, however, even in the case of multiple telegraphs, the discharge will be carried out immediately after the charging, in order to print the symbol as soon as possible after it has been recorded.
The capacitors are expediently charged by current surges of different polarity, so that their discharge currents set the armature of polarized relays in different directions.
The use of capacitors in type pressure receivers is known per se. They were used in such a way that the line currents were used to charge them and their discharge directly or indirectly excited the pressure magnet. What is new compared to these devices is the peculiar combination of capacitors and relays; For a certain total number of characters, it enables the reduction of the number of individual elements representing a character and thus gives the possibility of a much better utilization of the line.
In the drawing, a receiver for single telegraph is shown as an application example of the invention, partly diagrammatically, partly sehematically.
<B><I>81,</I> </B> S2 and <B> 83 </B> are fixed segment rings. The ring Si is the extension ring. It is assumed that each character is formed from only two pulses, so that a total of four different characters come into question, which are represented by the following pulse combinations -, - +,
<B> -. </B> According to the composition of each character from two pulses, the receiving ring <B> 81 </B> also has only two conductive segments si and these are permanently connected to grounded capacitors Ici or. 1c2. On the ring Si_schleift a brush bi, which is attached to a shaft? T: insulated. This shaft is driven by a motor M which rotates synchronously with the transmitter (not shown) of the sending office.
The brush bi is connected directly to the line L by means of a slip ring contact a or via a relay (not shown), while the brush bi brushes the contact pieces si and s2 one after the other, for example in the direction of the arrow, the capacitors ki and 1c2 are charged;
And indeed, of the two current surges running one after the other during one revolution of the brush, the line L incoming current surges, the first via the contact piece si and the capacitor 1i to earth. ', the second via the contact piece s2 and the capacitor k2 also to earth Earth. The capacitors are charged according to the current direction of the pulses. This is the storage of the mark.
The translation of the character stored in this way in type printing is divided into two sections. First, the translator is set to the relevant character and then the character is only printed. This is done in the following way: Two drums ti, t2 made of insulating material are attached to the shaft ic.
These each have an axial 3letallstrip nni, 7n2. Brushes <B> ei, </B> e2 grind side by side on these drums in such a way that they are temporarily bridged by the metal strips gni, ritt. While the brush bi slides over the contact pieces si, s2, the brushes <B> ei, </B> c2 lie against the isolated part of the drums.
Only when the brush bi brushes the isolated part) t of the ring 8i; So between two characters recorded, the brushes <B> ei, </B> e2 are connected by the strips nti, 7n ::.
In this position of the switching drums ti, <B> 4, </B> the capacitor Ici is discharged via a relay Ri and the capacitor k2 via a relay R2. Ri and R2 are polarized, neutral set relays, so that their armatures ri and r2 are set depending on the direction of the capacitor discharge currents.
Since each anchor can assume two different contact positions, a total of four combinations of anchor positions are possible, corresponding to the four impulse combinations assumed to be usable in your example. The relay armatures ri and r2 are located in the circuit of a battery B containing the pressure magnet D. Their contacts <I> ei, f </I> i and e2, <I> f 2 </I> are in a known manner with the contact pieces vi , v2 of two translation rings 82 and L13 in connection.
These contact pieces are brushed by brushes b2 and ba, both of which are fastened to the shaft and are conductively connected to one another by means of a line o guided through a longitudinal bore in the shaft w.
While the pair of brushes b2, bs grinds over the contact pieces of the rings S2 and 8s, it closes the circuit of the pressure magnet D in a position dependent on the position of the relay armatures ri and r2, causing it to be excited and its lifting with a pressure hammer Anchor q stripes against the paper P and the type wheel T, which is also arranged on the shaft zo, hits. According to the example assumed, this has four type symbols on its circumference, e.g.
The process of translating a character stored by the capacitors ki and k2 into print takes place as follows: Assume that the pulse combination + - has been sent over the line L. Then the capacitor ki is positive and the capacitor k2 is charged negatively to earth.
While the brushes bi, b2, bs pass over the parts n of the segment rings Si, S2, Ss, the capacitors ki and k2 discharge via the relays Bi and R2, which in this case have their armatures in the positions shown (armature ri on contact ei, Anchor r2 at contact f2) he may share.
At the beginning of the next rotation of the brush arms bi-b3 contacts on switching drums ti, 12 are opened again, so that the capacitors ki and k2 are now more available for storing the character arriving at this rotation via the line L. In the further course of this revolution, however, the characters already set on the relay contacts ei and f 2 are translated, that is, they are printed.
In the example shown, this happens as soon as the brush b3 brushes the contact piece vi 'of the ring 8s and the brush b2 the contact piece v2' of the ring, S2 at the same time, because during this path of the brush arms the following current flow, which excites the pressure magnet D, takes place: From the battery B via the pressure magnet D, relay armature r2, contact piece v2 'of the ring S3, contact ei, relay armature r1 and back to the battery.
The magnet <I> D </I> thus attracts its armature <I> q </I> and thereby brings that of the four types z of the wheel T, which corresponds to the pulse combination, onto the paper strip P for printing.
For practical operation, the arrangement must of course be expanded accordingly for the purpose of transmitting a larger number of characters; it is also advantageous not to let the capacitors charge directly from the line currents, but rather in the local area with the help of a special receiving line relay.
