Ce dispositif de commande est essentiel lement constitué par la combinaison: a) de deux bras extensibles disposés de chaque côté du store, montés à pivot en un point fixe à l'une de leurs extrémités et reliés à leur extrémité libre par une traverse à la quelle est fixée l'extrémité libre du store, b) d'une traverse horizontale mobile dis posée en avant du store et reliée à la partie coulissante des bras extensibles au moyen de biellettes dans le but d'obtenir, lors de l'os cillation ces bras extensibles résultant du dé roulement et de l'enroulement du store, le déplacement vertical de la traverse mobile;
Blind control device. The present invention relates to a device for the control of Italian blinds making it possible to use the blind as a driver blind and having the advantage of eliminating the side cheeks used in ordinary Italian blinds, while at the same time. providing better ventilation and shelter than with the systems used up to now.
This control device is essentially constituted by the combination of: a) two extensible arms arranged on each side of the blind, pivotally mounted at a fixed point at one of their ends and connected at their free end by a cross member at the which is fixed the free end of the awning, b) of a movable horizontal crosspiece placed in front of the awning and connected to the sliding part of the extensible arms by means of rods in order to obtain, during the os cillation these extendable arms resulting from the unrolling and winding of the blind, the vertical displacement of the mobile cross member;
said cross member being <B> '</B> suitably guided at its ends and kept in constant contact with the exterior face of the awning in order to oppose the advancement, outside the opening, of the upper part of the awning and consequently reducing the lateral voids between the edges of the blind and of said opening; the extensibility of the oscillating arms allowing the total opening and closing of the bay protected by the blind.
In the accompanying drawing, two arrangements of the control device forming the subject of the invention have been shown by way of example.
Figs. 1 to 4 relate to the first mode of assembly; Figs. 1 to 3 are transverse vertical sections respectively representing the blind in the position close to the complete winding, in the position of the Italian blind and in the closed position; Fig. 4 is a front elevation of the device; Figs. 5 to 7 are transverse vertical sections of a second mode of assembly showing the blind in three different positions corresponding respectively to the almost complete rolling up of the blind, to the partial closing and to the total closing of the window.
Referring to the drawing, it can be seen that the blind control device established according to the invention consists, in principle, of two extensible arms each constituted by a rod 1, pivotally mounted at a fixed point 2 and on which is capable of moving, under certain conditions, a cylindrical sleeve 3 connected by a rod 4 to a horizontal cross member 5.
The extendable arms are arranged, as seen in fig. 4, on each side of the blind 6 and are connected to each other by a cross member 7 fixed at its ends to the bottom of each of the sleeves 3.
It is on this cross member 7 that the free end of the blind 6 is attached which passes, on the other hand, behind the horizontal movable cross member 5 to wind, in the ordinary way, on titi roller 8 which could be d 'any system.
The mobile crosspiece 5 is therefore entirely independent of the blind; it extends over the entire width of the latter and is guided at its ends on guide rods 9 suitably fixed on each side of the blind, as can be seen clearly in FIG. 4.
The operation of the device shown in Figs. 1 to 4 is as follows Referring to fig. 1, which represents the awning starting to unfold, it can be seen that, when this awning is fully open, the extendable arms 1-3 are at their full development and that the cross member 7 connecting said arms and to which the end is attached free of the blind has been raised to its upper extreme position, in which it is applied, moreover, against the movable cross member 5 which is also at the end of its upward travel.
If, in this position, the roller of the awning is released, the extendable arms oscillate on their fixed pivots 2 in the direction of arrow X (rig. 1) and produce the unwinding of the awning by driving, via the links 4, the cross member 5 which descends on its guide rods 9.
In its descent, this movable cross member 5 slides on the blind and tightens the upper part of the latter which remains vertical and is not drawn outside the window.
The shortening of the extendable arms occurs during this descent, the oven rake 3 of each of them sliding on the rods 1; after which the extendable arms continue their oscillation on the pivots 2, pass through the position shown in fig. 2 in which the upper part of the Italian blind is held inside the window and perfectly houses the upper part of the latter; this device thus avoiding the side cheeks generally used and necessary with the blinds used hitherto.
If we continue to allow the oscillation of the extendable arms, we can obtain the complete closing of the window as seen in fig. 4. The extendable arms could, in this position, extend again, in the event that the window is of greater height than that shown in the drawing and where the rods 9 are extended downwards.
It will be understood, from the above, that the traction on the pulling cable will produce the rolling of the blind and the return to the position of FIG. 1 of the extendable arms controlling the mobile rod 5.
The device shown in FIGS. 5 to 7 differs from that described in figs. 1 to 4 in that the guide rods 9 of the movable rod 5 are longer and inclined towards the inside of the window, so as to direct the blind, in its lower position, inside the bar support. The swing axes 2 of the extendable arms are also arranged higher and closer to the internal face of the wall, so as to also help to drive the closed blind towards the inside of the grab bar, and to facilitate the unwinding of the awning due to the inclination of the extendable arms when the latter are raised, as can be seen in fig. 5.
The construction arrangements described are, moreover, given only by way of example, and it is understood that the materials, shapes and dimensions of the various constituent parts as well as the construction details can be changed without changing for this the spirit of the invention.
We could, likewise, apply the positive device to all blinds in general, with external or internal unwinding, the various fittings being able to be placed either inside the opening or outside the latter.
