Description
Device for fixing a window in its frame. The object of the present invention is a device for fixing a window in its frame according to the claim of the main patent which comprises a second strip in the shape of a U flared, with curved wings, the two strips being made of stainless metal and assembled from distance to distance by the screws mentioned in said claim, the whole so that the upper band clamps the glass by means of the screws against the lower band allowing both the condensation water and rainwater to filter between the glass and the wings of the bands to flow through the grooves formed by the lower band and by the iron of the frame.
The appended drawing represents two embodiments of the object of the invention, given by way of example.
Fig. 1 is an elevation of a first embodiment and FIG. 2 is a cross section thereof; Fig. 3 is a cross section of the second embodiment.
In the embodiment shown in FIG. 1 and 2, the frame is formed by a profiled iron 1 in the shape of a U in the groove of which is housed a strip 2 for example of zinc or galvanized sheet having the shape of a U flared, whose wings are curved and on which rest the panes 3. The rounded shape of the wings of the strip 2 allows the panes to rest on smooth and even surfaces, free of any roughness that could cause breakage. The strip 2 comes to rest on the bars 4. It is crossed by the clamping screws 5 engaging in the tap holes in the bars 4. These are placed transversely to the groove of the iron 1 and are engaged in housings pierced in the wings thereof.
Above the strip 2 and symmetrically with respect to the plane of the panes is placed a similar band 6 crossed by the screws 5. The panes are crimped between the two bands 2 and 6 and are held in place by tightening the screws. 5 in the bars 4. The elasticity of the rounded wings of the strips 2 and 6 makes it possible, without running the risk of breaking the glass, to ensure sufficient pressure to hold the glass firmly in place.
The groove formed by the strip 2 constitutes a condensate water collector, as also this water can pass through the small space existing between the wings of the iron 1 of the frame and the wings of the strip 2 and accumulate in the groove iron 1 to be evacuated outside by the slight slope to give to the frame.
Likewise, if the rainwater penetrated between the window 3 and the band 6, it would be collected in the groove of the band 2 and conducted outwards by means of said band.
In the second embodiment shown in FIG. 3, the device has the same members with the difference that the wings of the strips 7 and 8 are constructed with a view to fixing only one window 9, the wings on the opposite side are flared so that they touch each other when the window 9 is clamped in the final position.
