Description

Universalzirkel.

Universal compass. The subject of the present invention is a universal compass in which the one leg provided with a spirit level, an insert point and various graduations has a longitudinal opening into which the other leg, rigidly connected to an angular graduation disc at the joint end, is sunk in the closed state.

The compass can be used for a wide variety of measuring and drawing work that occurs in the workshop and on the construction site, as well as for angle and slope measurement, as a ruler, as a level, as a plumb bob and as a miter measure. For this purpose, a spring is expediently arranged on one leg, which snaps into notches corresponding to the most common miter coils attached to the other leg and thus fixes the compass opening.

An example Ausfültrungsform the subject invention is shown in the accompanying drawing, in which Fig. 1 shows the universal compass in view ge opens; Fig. 2 is a longitudinal section through the right leg, and Fig. 3 is a partial view of the rear side; Fig. 4 is a cross section of the leg 1; FIGS. 5 and 6 show a variant in front and side views.

The two legs <B> 1 </B> and 2 of the compass are connected to one another by the hinge pin <B> 3 </B>. The leg <B> 1 </B> has a flat, prismatic shape and a longitudinal opening in which the leg 2 is sunk in the closed position. On the outer edge of the leg <B> 1 </B>, a level 4 is arranged completely sunk, which shows FIG. 4 in cross section; At the lower end, the reversible insert tip <B> 5 </B> is screwed in, which contains the rice tip <B> 6 </B> and a sleeve <B> 7 </B> for inserting a pencil.

At the inner edge of one side surface is a division for angles BEZW. Gradients up to <B> 60 '</B> arranged, on the outer edge of the other side one millimeter division.

The hinge pin <B> 3 </B>, which connects the two legs to one another, can be rotated in the leg 1, while the leg 2 is placed in the middle of a square and, when the compass is opened, the bolt 3 and one on the outside takes along the angular graduation disk 8, which is also placed on this by means of a square. This corresponds to an index applied to the side surface of the leg 1.

On the outer edge of the leg 1, near the end of the joint, a tension spring <B> 9 </B> is arranged, which engages with a tongue in notches 10 cut into the circumference of the joint disc of the leg 22, which the main support angles 15, 30, 45 'ete. and fix the compass opening. On the back of the leg 1 is provided with a millimeter scale Fig. 3), while at the front it has a recessed finger opening 11 on the inner edge, in which a nail notch of the leg 2 comes to rest, whereby the opening of the Zir angle is facilitated. Other divisions and scales can also be attached to the compass. A protective sleeve (not shown) can be attached to the tips so that you can easily carry the circle with you in your pocket.

In the variant shown in Figs. 5 and 6, a small support 11 with two bearings is set on the outer 'compass leg 1, in which a worm 12 is ge superimposed on whose outwardly extended shaft e in handwheels 14 sits. The worm 12 is in engagement with a on the square of the hinge pin 3 aufgesetz th worm wheel 13, on which the graduation is also attached. The index 15 is designed as a protective housing that extends over the screw and is attached to the support 11. The tendon frieze, the mode of action of which is readily apparent from the figures, allows the compass to be opened and adjusted easily.
