Description
Process for the production of a durable and washfast mineral paint for painting, printing, etc. The invention relates to a process for producing a durable and washfast mineral paint for painting, printing, etc., which is particularly intended to withstand the effects of the weather.
The method consists in d @ ass one a mineral powder, e.g. B. powdered chalk, whistle clay, etc., soaked in water and strongly binds with an aqueous glue solution, then an emulsion made of saponified drying oil, made z. B. from boiled linseed oil, salmiac and aqueous oil soap solution, added and the whole thing stirred intimately. To achieve the desired color shade, the required mixed color can be incorporated into the mineral powder glue: mix.
For example, the process for producing a red paint can be carried out as follows: Take about 5 to 6 kg of chalk, soak it in water and add about 1/2 kg of a glue solution obtained by boiling glue in water. Then a red mix color is added to this mass in the amount required to achieve the desired red hue, and it is intimately mixed with the addition of a corresponding amount of glue solution (about 1/2 kg glue solution to 5 kg mix color).
Separately, mix 2 liters of boiled linseed oil cold with 1 liter of salmiac, add a solution of 200 grams of oil soap in 1/2 liter of hot water and mix the whole thing thoroughly until the oil is saponified, forming a rather thick emulsion occurs, whereupon about 1 liter of this emulsion is added to the previously prepared paint glue mixture. The whole mass is then intimately mixed and is ready to be spread.
The purpose of adding this emulsion is to give the paint glue mixture suppleness and water resistance; so that there is no risk of peeling, tearing or cracking, as occurs with normal glue paint, or of staining during washing, for example.
A paint made in this way resists, regardless of the surface, be it plaster, cement, oil paint, etc., all weather conditions. Their production costs are much lower than those of a C) oil paint. The mineral paint can also be applied to paper, fabric, etc. or pressed on, and then forms a kind of wallpaper substitute with the substrate.
