Une forme dexécution (le l'objet (le l'in vention et une variante sont représenitées, à titre d'exemple, au dessin aitnnexé, daiis lequel: Fig. 1 est la vue en élévation du porte- plume Supposé fermé; Fig. 2 est une vue en coupe longitudinale correspondant à la fig. 1; Fig. 3 est la vue en élévation du porte- plume supposé ouvert; Fig. 4 est une vue en coupe représentant le porte-plume combiné avec soli dispositif remplisseur nettoyeur; Fig. 5 est la vue en élévation du disposi tif ulimentateur dont le porte-plume est muni;
Reservoir pen holder. The present invention relates to a reservoir nib holder, characterized in that all the conduits in which the ink circulates to reach the pen, are pillars, which ensures the regularity of the flow, this device comprising a hollow needle which itself forms part of the reservoir and having openings through which the ink flows into a capillary space arranged between the external surface of the needle and the internal surface of the part which carries the ink. nientaieur and the feather, the coagnant needle, moreover,
with the rear face of the feeder, so as to ensure the adjustment by capillarity or the stopping of the flow of ink through the feeder, all the conduits of which are also capillary, this feeder being itself - even automatiquerileiit initiated, by simple removal of the capuchoii, by means of a flexible tube attached to the inside of the cap and containing a spongy mass which always remains wet.
A form of execution (the object (the in vention and a variant are shown, by way of example, in the appended drawing, in which: Fig. 1 is the elevational view of the penholder Supposedly closed; Fig. Fig. 2 is a longitudinal sectional view corresponding to Fig. 1; Fig. 3 is an elevational view of the pen holder assumed to be open; Fig. 4 is a sectional view showing the combined pen holder with soli filler cleaner; Fig. 5 is the elevational view of the feeding device with which the pen holder is provided;
Fig. 6 is a sectional view of the same device taken along the line VI-VI of FIG. <B> 5; </B> Fig. <B> 7 </B> is a longitudinal sectional view of a mode of establishment of the device in question, comprising a reservoir established in such a way <B> to, </B> allow, by its own means, the automatic filling of the pen holder as well as emptying for cleaning.
The reservoir nib holder comprises a hollow part intended <B> to </B> contain the ink and having the special shape indicated in figy <B> '1 </B> el-, 2 of the drawing, that is, that is to say, part <B> 1 </B> whose outer profile is cylindrical and protrudes # from a part 2 whose outer profile is conical. This part has an interior shoulder <B> 3 </B> on which the base 4 of a hollow needle solidary of said part rests.
This needle has along one of its generatrices a longitudinal slot 6 which stops a little before the conical head <B> 7 </B> of said needle, and which allows the ink contained in the capacity 8 to part 1, 2 to pass outside the hollow needle. Of course any suitable orifice is arranged, communicating the inside and the outside of the needle could be suitable.
The internal surface of part 1 is finished with a thread 9 in which engages the threaded end 10 of a part 11, the other end 12 of which supports the nib 13 and its feed device. or feeder 14. The part It has a conical seat 15 on which the head <B> 7 </B> of the needle can be applied. From fle this seat and up to its threaded end 10, the part II has a slightly greater internal diameter iiiii the external diameter of the body 5 of the needle, so as to constitute at 16 an annular space of small thickness or capillary.
This capillary space is kept filled with enern by the fact of the existence of the slot 6 ei specified above, this ink will pass to the feeder 14 when the head 7 of the needle is slightly removed from its seat, the nut Lement ink can moreover be real by this distance to be completely interrupted when the head of the needle rests on its seat. The relative movement of the needle with respect to its seat is obtained by means of the threads 9 and 10, by rotating the two parts 1, 2 and 11 with respect to one another.
This method of closing, by needle, wedged with the ink distributor 16 constituted by a surface, evlindrical annular capil- klire allows, on the one hand, to carry the pen holder in all <B> </ B > meaning, without possible leakage and, on the other hand, by applying capillarity phenomena, to regularize the supply and, in particular, to reduce the drop when the pen holder is almost empty. It is necessary to provide a watertight joint between the two parts 1 and 11 which are screwed onto each other, this result can be obtained by using the following means, isolated or in combination.
These parts can be provided with a thread over a great length, by making slits from place to place again as indicated in, fig. 2, leave the surfaces opposite one <B> to </B> the other smooth, and provide in one of them, <B> the </B> part <B> It </B> by example, slits such as 17, 18. Or can also fill the slit which is closer together (the free end 19 of part 1, with a pasty material insoluble in alcohol, or again establish a rubber seal at 20 which will be tightened in a way that is as forceful as the needle is nearer to its closed position. It is also possible to use any other means, such as leather gaskets, stuffing box etc. .
The feeder 14 constitutes an important element of the reservoir pen holder. It has been studied and established to <B>, </B> combine its capillary action with that of the cylindrical regulator 16, in such a way that the ink can be retained as strongly as possible while at the same time ensuring the presence of a large quantity of ink in all of the capillary conduits, reserve housings also ensure a certain elasticity in the flow of ink. They could still be deleted.
As shown in detail in Figs. <B> 5 </B> and <B> 6 </B>, 1111 drawing, the feeder has a narrow reamer 21, allowing the ink to be brought to the end of the nib, and a reamer (the shallow depth 2-21, disposk <B> ù </B> right angle to <B> to the. </B> prW-flenfe, said avî1iif recess for the purpose of allowing <B> to </ B > the air-to return,
lor # - that the ink stored in the Valimeniator is about to run out. while maintaining Ven- #cre, by capillarity, <B> when </B> this for Un ('whatever cause, completely fills the feeder. The countersink 22 can, as in <B> the </ B> case of, fig. <B> 5, </B> only prevail over a portion of the length of the feeder, but n it could also prevail over the entire <B> the </B> length of this latest.
The rear end 23 of the feeder has an eona exactly matching the shape of the water point, so that an interval of regular thickness can be formed between the feeder and the needle.
The fountain pen holder also includes a priming device, the principle of which was inspired by the instinctive gesture of <B> </B> wiping the beak of the feather on any piece of cloth, when the feather is not working. that not. The device in question makes it possible precisely to automatically rub the beak of the feather when the cap which covers it is removed.
It can be advantageously supplemented, without however this being linked, by a device making it possible to maintain a certain quantity of ink in contact with the nib, when the nib holder is closed, without this ink being able to maintain it. fall and stain when part 24 or #cap “is operated.
The initiator device in question, shown in section in FIG. 2 of the accompanying drawing, can be drawn up as follows or in any other analogous manner.
<B> A </B> the inside of the cap 24 and on the bottom of the conical part <B> 25 of </B> the latter, we have placed a protruding part 26 serving as a support <B> for < / B> a rubber tube <B> 27 </B> which, when the penholder is closed, grips, thanks to its elasticity, very exactly the nib 13. It is this tube which, when 'on or vre the pen holder, produces the priming as a result of its friction on the pen. It also makes it possible to prevent the ink from evaporating on contact with air and also prevents the condensation of the wateri evaporated on the part of the pen holder in contact with the fingers.
This rubber tube can advantageously be combined with a spongy and flexible mass 28, of rubber for example, placed at the bottom of the tube, resting on its support 26 and coming into contact with the end of the feather 13 when the pen holder is closed. This mass thus automatically receives when the pen holder is closed a certain quantity of ink which will soak the nozzle of the nib when the pen holder is opened, thus ensuring the perfect priming of the nib.
Part 24 carries <B> to </B> its inner part a female cone bearing which can match either a male cone bearing on part 11 (the pen holder is then closed), or a male cone bearing on the , part 1 (the pen holder is then open). The cone is chosen so that the part can be placed and removed easily without great effort.
With regard to the general conformation of the reservoir pen holder, the following should be observed: When the pen holder is closed, it is in a perfectly symmetrical form, as indicated by fig. 1. When the pen holder is open, and the cap 24, 25 has been fitted onto the reservoir 1, 2, the shape is still substantially symmetrical, as shown in FIG. 3, this result is obtained by virtue of the projections presented by the cylindrical parts 1 and 24 of the reservoir and of the cap.
Finally, the reservoir pen holder comprises a filler-washer device which flaps in a sealed manner onto the end of the open penholder. This device is established as follows (fig. 4).
<B> It </B> comprises a hollow cylindrical part <B> 29, </B> provided <B> at, </B> one of its ends with a rubber tank <B> 30, < / B> and at its other end of a metal cylinder <B> 31. </B> whose end exceeds that of part <B> 29 </B> and bears an external thread <B> 32. </B>
This thread by engaging on a corresponding thread <B> 33 </B> formed inside the end 34 of the part <B> 11 </B> allows the sealed fixing said filler-washer on the pen holder. It should be noted here that the filler is filling with ink like an 'ordinary dropper' has its faceted ink end, but since it does not come in,
contact with the fluid pen-holder parts touched by the fingers, there is no risk of dirtying them.
In the event that one wishes to carry out the filling, ge (the pen holder being held, the nib at the top and the dropper filled with ink and screwed on it) by pressing the bulb 30 five or six The ink from the dropper passes through the nib holder, the air from the nib holder passes through the dropper, and the filling takes place.
Once filled, the pen holder no longer needs to be wiped down.
If you want to clean the pen holder, the procedure is the same as for the reniplismge, but by placing the pen holder above the empty dropper, the nib facing down; if Fon acts on the rubber bulb 30, the ink from the pen holder then passes into the dropper. When the pen holder is emptied, the dropper is filled with water, this water is passed through the pen holder, then it is removed with the filler-l admission; this operation washes the pen holder perfectly, quickly and cleanly.
A variant of the establishment of the device which is the object of the present invention consists in combining the hollow needle specified above, with a reservoir established in such a way <B> to </B> allowing, by its own means, the filling. automatic sage of the pen holder, as well as its emptying for cleaning. This variant thus makes it possible to achieve, in one and the same device, the perfectly airtight closing of the reservoir filled with ink and the automatic filling of the nib holder without a dropper or device specially assigned to this operation.
Referring to fig. 7, from the accompanying drawings which shows the variant in question, it can be seen that, in this case, the pen holder, as a whole, still comprises the cap 24, 25, the initiator 27, the feeder 14 of the nib 13, the needle valve 7 co-operates with the part carrying the nib and the feeder, a tight seal always being provided at a, for example, between these two Means.
In accordance with the plant variant in question, the hollow needle <B> 7, </B> instead of communicating with a black iron reservoir intended to be filled by its own means, is combined , for example simple, with a reservoir made of an elastic material, such as rubber which can twist on itself when one of its ends is rotated leaving the other fixed and which can then be untwisted to resume its original position on its own.
This elastic tube b is secured to one of its ends in c on the posterior end (the needle ereux 7 and at its other end in <B> d </B> on a part <B> e </ B> integral with <B> the </B> parlie 2 of the pen holder, part which can turn here pax relative to part 1 integral, called needle 7, gnieo with an appropriate thread minned at f between these two parts.
Under these conditions of establishment, it can be seen that by rotating the two parts 1 and 2 with respect to one another, the elastic tube is tightened in the twisted position indicated in V, a position for which all of the ink it contained when it was in its relaxed position b is expelled.
<B> It </B> is obvious that by rotating the parts <B> 1 </B> and 2 in relation to each other <B> 1 </B> and 2 in the opposite direction to the previous one, the , reservoir <B> b </B> will fill with liquid (water or ink depending on the operation <B> to </B> carried out) <B> under, </B> condition, clearly stated, that the end 34 of the pen holder has <B> been </B> ploligated <B> (milk </B> this liquid.
It can therefore be seen that this particular form (the embodiment makes it possible to ensure the automatic filling and cleaning of the pen holder <B>. </B> av (-, c the advantage of completely isolating from h, pen the reservoir filled with ink, <B> this </B> double result being obtained by the combination called reservoir <B> <I> b </I> </B> <I> being </I> filling by its cleanF # means and hollow needle <B> 7. </B>
<B> There </B> should be observed here. that <B> the </B> command says filling <B> (</B> about three turns of the thread f) as well as the command says needle valve <B> 7 </B> approximately turn of the thread <B> 9) </B> are obtained by acting on easy parts:
, <B> to </B> distinguish, thanks to the projections made at <B> g </B> <I> and h </I> on <B> the. </B> middle cylindrical part <B> 1 of the body known as the pen holder, these parts Ù, man # uvrer, moreover have a large gripping surface on the fingers, which makes it possible to obtain a particularly easy and safe operation.
It is important <B> to </B> point out further that the special arrangement of the aforementioned parts as well as those of the conical and cylindrical parts of the cap 24, 25 make it possible to obtain a very interesting result which is to realize a holder. feather well in hand, avoiding any twitching of the fingers. The means making it possible to obtain this result are, moreover, the projections made at <B> g </B> <I> and </I> <B> h </B> on the cylindrical part 1, of a on the one hand, and the jumps made at i and j on the cylindrical part 24 of the cap, on the other hand.
The pen holder thus formed can be used with any ink (fixed black ink, communicative ink, etc.) it can be worn in all positions; it opens or closes instantly, it is always ready to operate; the feeding of the feather is perfectly regular, its filling, as well as its cleaning, are carried out quickly and without any risk of staining.
The conformation of the tank pen holder <B> it </B> has been particularly studied in order to give it an elegant shape, a large capacity and an easy hold in the hand.
