Electric speaking machine. The object of the invention is an electric talking machine operable by means of an alternating current, in which the rotating support of the recording disk has an armature of conductive material, which is driven to to rotate by electromagnetic motor means, capable of producing a driving magnetic field.
In this machine the armature which cooperates with the electromagnets to the actuation of the axis of the machine comprises an annular part of good conductive material and is mounted on the axis which rotates in a support formed by several parts and having a bearing for the axis, above the frame and an adjustable bearing for the axis, below the frame, this support also carrying the electromagnets and the parts constituent being connected together such that the axis and its actuating mechanism constitute a compact whole.
The appended drawing represents, to by way of example, one embodiment of the object of the invention. Fig. 1 is a perspective view of the operating mechanism of a phonograph, showing this mechanism seen from above, separated from the motor body; Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the bottom of the actuating mechanism showing it attached to the motor body of a phonograph.
Referring to the drawing we see that the axis 11 which is intended to support the phonograph table, which, in in turn, supports the disc carries a movable frame 12 of an electric induction motor. This frame 12 has arms 13 and is firmly fixed to the axis II. It carries an annular portion 14 of conductive material such as , for example, copper. This annular part 14 cooperates with the electromagnets 15 and 16 to produce a rotation of. the same way as in a to induction counter.
The electromagnets 15 and 16 have cores formed by blades 17 and 18. The annular part 14 is arranged such that it passes through an opening made between the two cores, as shown in the drawing. This form of motor for the phonograph is fine, and therefore no further description is given.
Wires 19, connected to the electromagnets, are connected to a source of native alternating current.
The axis It is rotatably mounted in a support composed of three parts 20, 21 and 25. The upper part 20 of this support consists of a cross member, in which is drilled an opening constituting a bearing for the axis II.
At one of the ends of this cross member 20 is fixed one end of part 21 of the support by means of screws 23. This part 21 has a bearing provided with 'an adjustment screw 22 for the lower part of the axis Il. The free end of the crossmember 20 and that of part 21 are connected to each other by part 25 < / B> which has bosses to which the strips 17 and 18 of the electromagnets 15 and 16 are attached. </ B> The cross. 20 has a boss 24 provided with an opening, through which pass retaining means for fixing the strips 18 to the part 25. </ B> The latter is retained to the crossmember 20 by means of screws 26 and to part 21 also by means of screws screwed into a projection 27.
Thanks to this form of construction, the 11 axis and its actuating motor are assembled on the same support which can be easily transported without damaging the bearings (the axis 11.
The parts 20 and 21 being disposed transversely with respect to to the frame form a protective casing for the latter.
The support 20, 21, 25 is mounted on a plate 28 having to this effect openings in which for example pass bolts passing through corresponding openings 29 and 30 of the cross member 20. Between this cross member 20 and the plate 28 are placed washers 31 </ B> made of material such as for example rubber, felt etc., in order to avoid the transmission of vibrations from the engine to the support 28. The cross member 20 carries a plate 40 on which it can be fitted. as the name, for example of the manufacturer.
The frame formed by the two members 20 and 21 and the electromagnets 15 and 16 is of such a nature that it is possible y </ B > accommodate appropriate means of speed regulation. In the present example these speed adjustment means are of the ordinary type using centrifugal faith and are clearly shown in fig. 2. The motor is adjusted by means of an elbow lever 32, pivoted in 33 to part 21 and whose position is determined by a knurled screw 34 .
This pivoted lever carries on its short arm a to friction member 35. , for example in leather, which is arranged to cooperate with a to disc. friction 36, which small slide on titi shaft 37 under the action of the centri fuge force acting on weights 38 also sliding on this shaft . The shaft 37 is actuated by the axis 11 by means of a helical gear 39. These adjustment means being also well known, no further description is given.
The mechanism described with reference to the drawing has several advantages, since it is extremely compact and it occupies a space. much more restricted than ordinary à spring phonographs. In addition, it is constructed in such a way that it can form an easily separable whole from the body of the phonograph without the risk of damage.
This mechanism is extremely simple and is easy to inspect.
