DURING DRILLING AT LEAST A PORTION OF THE COMPRESSION STRESS WAVE (OI) CAUSED IN THE TOOL IS REFLECTED AS A STRESS WAVE (OR) RETURNING FROM THE ROCK TOWARDS THE TOOL. THE METHOD INCLUDES DETERMINING THE IMPULSE (PR) OF THE STRESS WAVE (OR) REFLECTED FROM THE ROCK TOWARDS THE TOOL AND ADJUSTING THE OPERATION OF THE IMPACT DEVICE AND / OR THAT OF THE FEEDING DEVICE BASED ON THE IMPULSE.
