Método y sistema de verificación automática de la autenticidad de documentos. El método comprende escanear (306) un documento a verificar en el espectro de luz visible y ultravioleta; detectar en el documento escaneado marcas de agua digital impresas con tinta visible y ultravioleta; desencriptar dichas marcas, obteniendo un identificador de marca ultravioleta y un identificador de marca de datos variables; realizar una validación (318) del porcentaje de marca mediante la comprobación de la presencia de la marca de agua digital en diferentes regiones del documento escaneado; comparar los identificadores de marca obtenidos con identificadores de marca almacenados en una base de datos (108); y determinar la validez del documento en base a dicha comparación. La invención permite la comprobación automática de la validez de los datos impresos en el documento, disminuyendo la posibilidad de que un documento sea falsificado, modificado o alterado total o parcialmente sin ser detectado.Method and system for automatic verification of the authenticity of documents.
