Abstract

La invención se relaciona con un método para producir material queratináceo parcialmente hidrolizado, altamente digerible, preferentemente de plumas, pelo, lana, pezuñas o uñas, que comprende las etapas de (1) hidrolizar el material queratináceo en presencia de agua, en un hidrolizador con calor y a una presión entre aproximadamente 2 bar y aproximadamente 100 bar para obtener un material queratináceo parcialmente hidrolizado; (2) secar previamente el material queratináceo parcialmente hidrolizado de la etapa (1) para obtener un material queratináceo parcialmente hidrolizado semiseco que tiene un contenido de sólidos de aproximadamente 50 % en peso o mayor, preferentemente entre 60-85 % en peso; y (3) secar y triturar simultáneamente el material queratináceo parcialmente hidrolizado semiseco de la etapa (2) en un molino de turbulencia de aire, aproximadamente a presión atmosférica para obtener material queratináceo parcialmente hidrolizado seco; en donde preferentemente las etapas (2) y (3) se llevan a cabo de tal manera que la caída en la digestibilidad de pepsina y/o ileal causada por las etapas (2) y (3) es menor que 10 %, y/o la digestibilidad de pepsina e ileal del material queratináceo parcialmente hidrolizado seco es mayor que respectivamente 75 % y 80 %; en donde el material queratináceo parcialmente hidrolizado seco resultante comprende al menos material parcialmente insoluble, y en donde el tamaño de partícula promedio del material queratináceo parcialmente hidrolizado seco (d50) que sale del molino de turbulencia de aire está entre 20 micrómetro y 0,7 mm y el d90 es menor que 1 mm medido con difracción láser usando un analizador de tamaño de partícula Beckman Coulter de polvo seco.
