Abstract

La cogeneración de hidrógeno 11 a partir de agua 8 producida durante procesos de desalinización/filtración de agua impulsados por presión, como la ósmosis inversa, la ósmosis directa, la ósmosis retardada por presión o la ultrafiltración. Una pequeña parte de la alimentación, la solución salina bruta y/o el permeado que intervienen en los procesos de desalinización/filtración es sometida a electrólisis, con lo que se divide el agua para producir hidrógeno. Esto se consigue suministrando nuevas membranas semipermeables de tipo ósmosis inversa (RO por sus siglas en inglés) y membranas de tipo ultrafiltración (UF por sus siglas en inglés) que incorporan electrodos 9, 10 dentro de la membrana para permitir la separación del agua mediante electrólisis
