Abstract
Un reactor iónico o de plasma o gasificador implementa un proceso de gasificación iónica a temperatura ultraalta que puede usarse de una manera respetuosa con el medio ambiente para eliminar biosólidos secos de, por ejemplo, plantas de tratamiento de aguas residuales así como otros desechos de materias primas, tales como residuos sólidos municipales (MSW) para producir, por ejemplo, gas de síntesis renovable que puede usarse para proporcionar calor, energía, combustibles renovables, hidrógeno renovable y/o producción química renovable. Los sistemas descritos en la presente lo realizan al generar arcos eléctricos a través del interior de la cámara de reacción del gasificador que crea una temperatura localizada y controlada mayor que 3000 °C junto con gas iónico o partículas (plasma). Esta zona de gasificación de temperatura ultraalta y ambiente iónico activo se combinan efectiva y eficientemente para descomponer las moléculas en sus átomos constituyentes, en un proceso llamado disociación molecular completa. Esta zona iónica de temperatura ultraalta también descompondrá rápidamente impurezas en la materia prima tales como microplásticos, PFAS (sustancias perfluoradas y polifluoradas), y otros materiales de fluorocarbono.
