Abstract
Método para seleccionar plantas de maíz con resistencia del tallo mejorada, que comprende las etapas de: mientras opera el equipo de cosecha a través de una parcela de plantas de maíz, aplastar un tallo de una planta de maíz recibido en el equipo de cosecha; medir, mediante un sensor de fuerza acoplado al equipo de cosecha, una fuerza ejercida por el tallo de dicha planta contra el aplastamiento del tallo; medir, mediante un sensor de temperatura acoplado al equipo de cosecha, un parámetro de temperatura en el sensor de fuerza durante la cosecha; estimar la resistencia del tallo de la planta como función de una salida de cada uno de los sensores de fuerza y temperatura; y seleccionar plantas de maíz de la parcela con una resistencia del tallo de la planta superior al umbral para su uso en un programa de fitomejoramiento.
