Abstract

Background technique

In cooking appliances, especially in ovens, the doors providing access to the oven cavity are manufactured in multiple layers, usually double layers, in order to increase the efficiency of the thermal insulation. Leakage protection against the spread of liquid and dust at the joints where the layers forming the door are joined is not provided and liquid and dust enters the gaps in the door, creating an undesired appearance. Since the oven is usually located below countertop level, the problem is mainly observed on the upper surface of the door. The door protection member has a sloped configuration that decreases from the outer panel toward the inner panel.

In the state of the art of European patent application number EP1726884, a cooking appliance is described comprising a door consisting of two glass panels. In this embodiment, the cooking device comprises a hinged cover covering the upper side of the panel and extending from the inner surface of the outer panel towards the inner surface of the door facing the oven cavity.

Contents of the invention

The object of the present invention is to realize a cooking appliance in which the door is prevented from getting dirty easily and its appearance is improved.

The cooking device set forth in the first claim and its corresponding claims, achieved to achieve the object of the present invention, comprises a door with inner and outer panels placed at both sides of the frame.

The cooking device of the present invention further comprises a plate-type covering member covering the inner panel and the upper side of the frame so that they are seen as a single surface. The covering member comprises a main body forming an upper surface of the door and at least one skirt extending from at least one edge of the main body not facing the outer panel towards a side edge of the frame or inner panel.
