Description

Fresh-keeping bags for vegetables and fruits containing ingredients that hinder plant ethylene reaction

The invention relates to a vegetable and fruit bag which can preserve freshness and regulate the physiological functions of vegetables and fruits through the combination of a non-woven laminate containing a plant ethylene reaction inhibitor and a plastic film.

Background technique

Ethylene is an important growth regulator that regulates plant growth, development, aging, and environmental stress. It mainly affects related processes such as fruit ripening, flower recession, and leaf abscission. It is often formed in large quantities during plant storage and transportation. The commercial value of fresh fruits, vegetables or flowers is often reduced by excess ethylene gas. Extensive research has been devoted to the control of ethylene gas for post-harvest preservation of fresh produce.

U.S. Patent No. 5,518,988 discloses cyclopropene (cyclopropene) and its derivatives, such as: cyclopropene, 1-methylcyclopropene (1-methylcyclopropene; 1-MCP), 3-methylcyclopropene (3-methylcyclopropene) and 3,3-Dimethylcyclopropene (3,3-dimethylcyclopropene) can compete with ethylene to bind to plant ethylene receptors, thereby effectively inhibiting the binding of ethylene to plant cells and inhibiting the physiological effects of ethylene.

Among the aforementioned compounds, 1-methylcyclopropene has the best effect on inhibiting the action of ethylene. The compound is gaseous at 20° C., has no peculiar smell, requires low concentration for treatment, and is non-toxic to humans and animals within the effective concentration range. However, 1-methylcyclopropene is generally unstable due to its high chemical activity. U.S. Patent No. 6,017,849 discloses a method of molecularly embedding 1-methylcyclopropene gas with a carrier such as α-cyclodextrin to form a powdery complex, which can be used to stabilize the reactivity and property of 1-methylcyclopropene gas. Instability, the embedding compound can be applied or delivered to the plant simply by adding water. US Patent No. 6,897,185 discloses the preparation and use of 1-methylcyclopropene foaming lozenges, which makes the storage, transportation and application of the compound more convenient and safe, and successfully solves the problems caused by ethylene to plants.

The effective dose of 1-methylcyclopropene applied to plants is 0.1 to 1.0 ppm (vol/vol). The current commercial 1-methylcyclopropene powder product requires a large amount of water (for example: 10 to 20 times the weight of the 1-methylcyclopropene/α-cyclodextrin powder compound) to coordinate the release. China Taiwan No. 265005 Invention Patent discloses a method of using non-woven fabric, aluminum foil or corrugated cardboard as a cyclopropene compound release carrier, wherein the cyclopropene compound agent is blended with a thermoplastic composition and laminated to the non-woven fabric layer, aluminum foil layer or On the corrugated cardboard layer, a laminate is formed to hinder the ethylene reaction of plants. In said patent, the 1-methylcyclopropene embedded in the carrier does not need additional water, and can be released only by the humidity in the environment to act on plants to hinder the progress of plant ethylene reaction. Therefore, compared with the previous powder-type and foam-type lozenges, China Taiwan Invention Patent No. 265005 has better application flexibility and ease of use.

However, the laminate of the invention patent No. 265005 in Taiwan, China cannot prevent the vegetables and fruits from withering due to the loss of water during the low-temperature refrigeration process, and cannot adjust the gas permeability such as oxygen and carbon dioxide, thereby prolonging the storage period of the vegetables and fruits. Therefore still need new technology and improvement to further increase the preservation and storage period of fruits and vegetables.
