Abstract

Un hilo dental elastomérico compuesto al menos de un material elastomérico que puede ser alargado y estirado sin romperse en una operación normal de limpieza. El hilo dental provee una aplicación mejorada y más suave a las encías, capaz de masajear la encía, y más interesante y divertido de usar, y flexible para permitir el fácil manejo durante el uso del mismo. En una realización, el hilo dental elastomérico comprende al menos un copolímero de bloque de elastómero, polipropileno, un plastificante, un saborizante opcional, y un colorante opcional. El hilo dental elastomérico preferiblemente puede ser alargado hasta 1.500% de su largo inicial sin quebrarse, un pico de resistencia a la tracción al punto de quiebre de menos de 20 N min y un alongamiento en el punto de quiebre de más de 100%.
