La presente invencion esta dirigida a la ingenieria de plantas. En particular, la misma esta dirigida a la produccion de horas verdes y al incremento en la productividad por medio de la inhibicion de etileno. Las composiciones y metodos de la invencion involucran receptores de etileno negativos dominantes que interfieren con la senalizacion de etileno.
