Abstract
Un mecanismo de engarce compacto muy adecuado para su uso con dispositivos como las válvulas cardíacas protésicas con endoprótesis. El mecanismo de engarce incluye una pluralidad de mordazas configuradas para un movimiento hacia adentro coordinado hacia un eje de engarce para reducir el tamaño de un iris engarzado alrededor de una válvula con endoprótesis. Una rueda de leva giratoria actúa sobre las mandíbulas y las desplaza hacia adentro. Varios elementos de guía cartesianos cooperan con las mandíbulas para distribuir fuerzas dentro del mecanismo de engarce. Los elementos de guía están ubicados entre las mordazas de engarce y una carcasa exterior y están restringidos por la carcasa exterior para el movimiento a lo largo de líneas que son tangenciales a un círculo centrado en el eje de engarce.
