Abstract
En el presente documento se describen sistemas y procedimientos relacionados con redes de malla de comunicación inalámbrica. En un aspecto, los sistemas y procedimientos divulgados pueden involucrar (1) una red de fibra preexistente asociada con un área geográfica que incluye edificios, donde la red de fibra preexistente comprende enlaces de fibra preexistentes, (2) un primer enlace de fibra que se empalma en uno determinado de los enlaces de fibra preexistentes acoplados a la red de fibra preexistente en una ubicación determinada que se identificó como conveniente para extender la red de fibra preexistente, (3) un segundo enlace de fibra que se despliega entre la ubicación determinada y un edificio determinado que está más cerca a la ubicación determinada, donde el edificio determinado está configurado para servir como un nodo semilla de una red de malla de comunicación inalámbrica que tiene conectividad de red de retorno a través de la red de fibra preexistente, y (4) uno o más enlaces de comunicación punto a punto o punto a multipunto que se originan en el nodo semilla.
