Abstract

La presente invención proporciona métodos para mejorar el tratamiento de efluentes y desechos producidos durante el procesamiento y la producción de alimentos. En particular, la presente invención proporciona métodos para remediar, aceites y grasas (FOG), sólidos en suspensión, proteínas y otra materia orgánica que efluye de plantas que procesan, por ejemplo, carnes, aves, mariscos, productos lácteos y aceites vegetales. Los métodos de la presente invención utilizan un cóctel microbiano personalizado que comprende anaerobios facultativos, en combinación con uno o más subproductos de crecimiento microbiano, por ejemplo, enzimas y/o biotensioactivos para digerir y/o licuar residuos del procesamiento de alimentos.
