Abstract
Se describen sistemas y métodos para que satélites de comunicaciones conmuten modos operativos. Un satélite de comunicaciones puede operar de acuerdo con un primer modo operativo para proporcionar servicios de comunicaciones para terminales de usuario en una primera área de cobertura (por ejemplo, proporcionar servicios de comunicaciones de enlace directo a los terminales de usuario mediante el uso de un primer enlace de comunicación con una primera polarización).
