Abstract
The seam ironing machine levels seam allowances on the inner surfaces of garments. It comprises a tension device (2) for the garments as well as two ironing rollers (3) facing each other and exerting pressure on each other under pre-tension; these rollers can move along the seam to be ironed, thus rolling-off on the seams, and thereby separate and iron the seam allowances smooth. The seam ironing machine replaces manual separating and smoothing of seam allowances to a large extent which, as a rule, can only be carried out on horizontal ironing supports and which moreover require a relatively large amount of space. The seam ironing machine is particularly suitable for the production of ready-made clothing for the efficient aftertreatment of seam allowances. <IMAGE>
