BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention The present invention relates to a wrapper, particularly for cotton swab pads, comprising bottom, top, front and back walls and side walls made of paper, cardboard or the like and provided with a hinged portion on one of said walls. One side of said attachment portion defines a fold line, while the remaining sides of the lid portion are connected to the packaging material via a weakened line formed by a series of alternating slots and bonding bridges forming points to be torn. If the above-described prior art package is opened for the first time, then the consumer must press the top wall area slightly, which is located approximately in the center of the package width, near the still closed lid portion. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

This object is achieved in accordance with the invention in that the lid part extends laterally to the side edges of the package.
