Abstract
The process involves prodn of gelatin gel treated with transverse crosslinked reagents comprising dialdehydes; extrusion of the prod. through a sieve with opening of size e.g. 200-250 microns, treatment of the obtd. particles with a 0.25-0.75% soln. of proteolytic enzyme of animal origin using vol. ratio of enzyme soln to gel of 0.75-1.25:1; secondary treatment with dialdehydes; and finally addn. of reducing agents.
