Abstract
The solution concerns a surgical longette for suctioning body fluids and secretions from the intestines or other body cavities during surgical interventions. It is made of non-woven fabric and consists of an absorbent layer, preferably made of a fleece of hydrophilic fibers connected to each other at the points of their crossing by their fused surface La, closed from the outside in a flat structure, preferably made of a calendered fiber fleece. The individual fibers of the fleece are distributed randomly and/or oriented in one direction, and in the places where they cross, they are connected to each other either directly by their melted surface or glued using modified starch. As a rule, the longeta has the form of a flat, longitudinally welded hose, closed on its shorter sides also by welds. Its advantage compared to the well-known gauze longette is its high suction power, which allows even purulent secretions to be captured and removed from the operative field without the need to manipulate the longette and thus risk damage to the walls of the body cavity.
Description
Předmětem vynálezu' je chirurgická longeta k odsávání tělních tekutin a sekretů ze střev nebo jiných tělních dutin při Chirurgických zákrocích, ,The subject of the invention is a surgical longet for aspirating body fluids and secretions from the intestines or other body cavities during surgery.
In abdominal surgery '; ae, used to suck blood or purulent secretions from the intestines or other cavities called longeta. It is an elongated tampon with a length of 20 to 60 cm and a width of 2 to 5 cm, made of conventional gauze. The disadvantage of this known longet gauze is its relatively low suction power, as the gauze consists of yarns, which is quite dense. This extends the duration of aspiration of body fluid from the treated cavity. Gauze longetas often do not absorb dense purulent secretions, which must then be wiped out with the longetas, increasing the risk of damage to the cavity wall and the length of treatment.
These drawbacks are overcome by the surgical longette according to the invention, characterized in that the surgical longette is formed of a nonwoven fabric and consists of an absorbent layer, preferably formed of a web of hydrophilic fibers joined together at their intersection points and externally enclosed in a sheet preferably of a calendered fibrous web with individual fibers distributed randomly and / or oriented in one direction and interconnected at their intersection points. The hydrophilic fibers of the absorbent layer may be bonded to each other at their intersection with their molten surface or glued with modified starch. Also, the individual fibers of the sheet material externally closing the absorbent layer are glued together with modified starch at their intersection points. The nonwoven web, externally closing the absorbent layer and defining the shape of the longet, is preferably formed in the form of a flat, longitudinally welded hose, also closed on its shorter sides by welds.
The advantage of the surgical longet according to the invention, as opposed to the known longet, is its surprisingly high suction power, which makes it possible to catch and remove purulent secretions from the surgical field. This is because the nonwoven structure is very porous, loosened compared to the yarn structure of the gauze, so that it contains a plurality of cavities into which fluid is more easily absorbed. According to the invention, the suction rate can be further increased by the coating of the modified starch on the fibers of the absorbent layer or even of the wrapper or on the fibers of the sheet-like structure with an absorbent layer externally closing. No damage to the walls of the cavity either intestinal or abdominal, 1 because of Longet can not be handled.
A fibrous web having a weight of 300 g. M -2 is made of 1.6 dtex tall fibers of 38 mm length. The fleece thus prepared is passed through a spraying device where it is sprayed with a 7% aqueous suspension of oxidized textile potato starch. The spraying is carried out first from one side and then from the other side so that there are about 15 wt. % of the dry matter of the starch, the starch content being checked continuously. The sprayed web, located on a sieve conveyor, passes through a continuous drier heated to a temperature of about 110 ° C. Finally, the web is cooled to ambient temperature and the final product thus produced is wound into a wrap.
For example, two carding compositions can be used to produce a web instead of a pneumatic web, thereby allowing either single webs to be sprayed prior to being laminated into the web or to a laminated web. In the first case, a very uniform distribution of the starch is achieved over the whole thickness of the web, while in the second case the amount of starch is reduced from its surface to the middle part of the web. In both cases, the starch on the fibers is in the form of a coating covering at least a portion of the fibers, with the starch coating being thicker at the points of the crossed fibers.
Vlákenné rouno o hmotnosti 20 g . m *2 ze směsi třižových vláken, obsahuje 50 hmot. pročet polypropylenových vláken jemnosti 1,4 dtex a délky 38 mm.20 g fiber fleece. m * 2 of a blend of staple fibers, containing 50 wt. the polypropylene fiber has a fineness of 1.4 dtex and a length of 38 mm.
The fiber web thus prepared is passed. a calender heated to the softening temperature of the thermoplastic synthetic fibers, thereby joining the fibers in the web and thereby converting the web into a thin, sparse nonwoven. The calendered nonwoven fabric is cut or cut into strips of desired width, in this case 6.5 cm, that are wound into a wrap.
Then the production of its own longet is started. A strip of absorbent layer as described above is applied between two strips of calendered nonwoven fabric unwound from the packs, then the so-formed layer is crushed and the longitudinal edges of the two calendered fabrics are joined to each other by heat and pressure. This results in an elongated formation consisting of an outer wrapper formed by bonded strips of calendered nonwoven and wrapping the absorbent layer. Depending on the length of the longet chosen, in this case 60 cm, the end edges of the longet are formed by joining the package by a transverse weld extending from one longitudinal edge of the longet to the other. The transverse weld is performed by the simultaneous application of pressure and heat and the individual longets are separated by a cross-section cut.
The longet can also be made by calendering a nonwoven web approximately 2 times wide as described above, wrapping the absorbent layer and bonding the two longitudinal edges of the package so that the longet has only one side weld .
The longet can be further improved by incorporating into the process of producing a calendered nonwoven fabric wrapping prior to the calendering operation the spraying of a fibrous web with an aqueous 7% suspension of oxidized textile potato starch in an amount of about 5% by weight. % dry starch in finished calendered nonwoven. This improves the distribution of body fluid into the absorbent layer. The calendered nonwoven web may be replaced by a web that is nonwoven or knitted from a synthetic material, such as a polyamide monofilament.
