Description
Vynález se týká způsobu pěstování monokrystalů yttritohlinitého perovskitu, obsahujícího ionty neodymu a chrómu nebo titanu. The present invention relates to a process for the cultivation of yttrium-aluminum perovskite single crystals containing neodymium and chromium or titanium ions.
Neodymium-activated T-Aluminium perovskite is a promising active laser material. In pulsed laser operation, it exhibits virtually the same efficiency as neodymium-activated yttrium-aluminum garnet, with the output light beam being polarized, which, together with the choice of crystallographic orientation of the laser rod and the relatively high selectable storage capability, brings many advantages in laser germination and generation of higher harmonic frequencies. On the other hand, the material is very sensitive to iron ion contamination. While this can be eliminated by melt-growing in a reducing protective atmosphere using molybdenum or tungsten crucibles, the cultured monocrystals regularly contain an admixture of these metals, making it difficult to achieve optimum spectral-generating properties such as minimal absorption on the laser line with high resistance to shortwave light .
Uvedený nedostatek lze odstranit způsobem pěstování monokrystalů yttritohlinitého perovskitu, obsahujícího ionty neodymu a ohromu nefr^i titanu podle vynálezu, jehož podstata spočívá v tom, že se pěstují z taveniny, obsahující příměs 0,6 až 1,2 hmot.% neodymu a 0,0008 až 0,08 hmot.% ohromu nebo/a titanu pod ochrannou atmosférou sestávající z 50 až 98 obj.% argonu a 2 až 50 obj.% vodíku a po výpěsto_This deficiency can be overcome by a process for the cultivation of yttrium-aluminum perovskite monocrystals containing neodymium ions and the nephr of titanium according to the invention, characterized in that they are grown from a melt containing an additive of 0.6 to 1.2% by weight of neodymium and 0.1% by weight. 0008 to 0.08% by weight of titanium and / or titanium under a protective atmosphere consisting of 50 to 98 vol% argon and 2 to 50 vol% hydrogen and after propagation
-2.:52 947 vání a případné® zpracování na polotovary se temperují při teplotě 1200 až 1750 6C po dobu 5 až 100 hodin v atmosféře obsahující 10 až 100 obj.% kyslíku a je-li obsah titanu nižší než 0,001 hmot.% ve vakuu o tlaku zbytkových plynů nižším než 0,01 Pa.2.479 947 blanks and optional processing into blanks are tempered at a temperature of 1200 to 1750 6 C for 5 to 100 hours in an atmosphere containing 10 to 100% oxygen by volume and if the titanium content is less than 0.001% by weight in a vacuum with a residual gas pressure of less than 0,01 Pa.
The addition of chromium and / or titanium results in the suppression of the possible presence of molybdenum or tungsten, while chromium ions are also a highly effective co-activator of neodymium ions, as they are characterized by wide absorption bands and quantitatively transfer the energy obtained to the neodymium ions.
Způsoée»» peále vynálezu lze pěstovat monokrystaly yttritohlinitého perovskitu aktivovaného ionty neodymu s velmi výhodnými vlastnostmi pro použití jako aktivní laserový materiál.In accordance with the present invention, neodymium-activated yttrium-aluminum perovskite monocrystals can be grown with very advantageous properties for use as an active laser material.
Příklad 1Example 1
Byly pěstpvány monokrystaly yttritohlinitého perovskitu s obsahem 1,08 až 1,12 hmot.% neodymu a 0,0028 hnot.% titanu z taveniny v molybdenovém kelímku pod ochrannou atmosférou, složenou z 92 obj.% argonu, 7,9 obj.% vodíku a 0,1 obj.% dalších plynů. Single crystals of yttrium-aluminum perovskite containing 1.08 to 1.12% by weight of neodymium and 0.0028% by weight of melt titanium in a molybdenum crucible under a protective atmosphere composed of 92% by volume argon, 7.9% by volume hydrogen were grown. and 0.1 vol% of other gases. Growing single crystals after being cut into semi-finished products, the prisms of 6 x 6 x 80 mm were divided into two parts. The first part was tempered according to the invention in air at a temperature of 1690 ° C for 12 hours, and then processed into laser bars with a diameter of 5 mm and a length of 75 mm. These bars have proven themselves in both pulsed and continuous lasers. On the other hand, bars made of square sections of the second part, which were vacuum-tempered, showed low efficiency in half-lasers and did not work in continuous lasers.
Příklad 2Example 2
Byly pěstovány monokrystaly yttritohlinitého perovskitu s obsahem 0,85 hmot.% neodymu a 0,04 hmot.% chrómu o délce 125 mm a průměru 32 mm tažením z taveniny, obsažené ve wolframovém kelímku pod ochrannou atmosférou, složenouSingle crystals of yttrium-aluminum perovskite containing 0.85% by weight of neodymium and 0.04% by weight of chromium with a length of 125 mm and a diameter of 32 mm were grown by melt-drawing contained in a tungsten crucible under a protective atmosphere composed of
252 947 z 65,2 obj.% argonu, 34,79 obj.% vodíku a 0,01 obj.% vodní páry. Laserové tyče zhotovené z třetí skupiny nevykazovaly žádnou laserovou funkci, protože byly červenohnědě zbarveny, což souviselo s nízkou luminiscenční účinností a vysokou absorpcí na emisních vlnových délkách 1,064 nebo 1,079 yua neodyaea aktivovaného yttritohlinitého perovskitu.252,947 of 65.2 vol% argon, 34.79 vol% hydrogen and 0.01 vol% water vapor. The cultivated single crystals were divided into three groups, the first one being tempered in oxygen at 1300 ° C for 7θ h, the second one being vacuumed at a residual gas pressure of 0.002 Pa and the third in a hydrogen ataosphere, vesaesa at the same temperature and for the same as a group first. Potoes were cut into 7x7x105 prisms by aonocrystals, and laser bars with a 6 aa banner and a 100 aa length were made. Laser bars made from the first group showed good laser function, while made from the second group showed a laser function, but they were substantially impaired. Laser rods made from the third group showed no laser function because they were reddish-brown colored, which was associated with low luminescence efficiency and high absorption at the emission wavelengths of 1.064 or 1.079 y and of neodyea-activated yttrium-aluminum perovskite.
