Description
A photoelectric indicator of thin opaque objects with a uniform course of light sensitivity of the monitored zone and a high resolution of the indication is solved. A light-guide system is arranged coaxially with the collimator between the light source with the collimator and the light-sensitive elements, arranged at the point where the light rays strike the active surface. In the active surface, the light guide fibers are arranged adjacent to each other, with longitudinal axes parallel to the incident light beams and cross-sections perpendicular to their incidence direction. Beyond the impact point, the light-guide fibers branch, and each of them is optically coupled to one light-sensitive element. The photosensitive elements are arranged in any geometric grouping, are connected in series and form the base resistance of the transistor switch, whose collector output is the output of the photoelectric indicator.
The invention relates to a photoelectric indicator of thin opaque objects, for example fibers or conductors, in the sensing part of which an optical dimensional conversion is used.
Photoelectric indicators or sensors are very often used in automated production for contactless indication of opaque objects of any material, the current design usually consists only of a light source consisting of a light bulb or a light-emitting diode and a light-sensitive sensor made of a phototransistor or photodiode. However, their application brings difficulties in cases where the size of the monitored object is smaller than the active area of the light-sensitive element used and especially if the object moves in the monitored zone, because its deflection can often exceed the size of the object itself.
V takových případech je nutno používat více v řadě uspořádaných světlocitlivých prvků. Potřebnou šířku sledované zóny je nutno obvykle když je třeba optické zvětšení opticky přizpůsobit rozměrům řady použitých světlocitlivých prvků pomocí optických členů. To vše značně komplikuje konstrukční řešení a navíc není obvykle možné dosáhnout rovnoměrné světelné citlivosti podél celé sledované zóny.In such cases, it is necessary to use more light-sensitive elements arranged in a row. The required width of the monitored zone is usually necessary when the optical magnification needs to be optically adapted to the dimensions of a number of light-sensitive elements used by means of optical elements. All of this complicates the design considerably and moreover it is not usually possible to achieve a uniform light sensitivity along the entire monitored zone.
Výše uvedené nevýhody odstraňuje fotoélektricky indikátor tenkých neprůhledných objektů dle vynálezu, sestávající ze světelného zdroje s kolimátorem a ze světlocitlivých prvků.The above-mentioned disadvantages are overcome by the photoelectric indicator of thin opaque objects according to the invention, consisting of a light source with a collimator and of photosensitive elements.
Its essence is that between the light source with the collimator and the light-sensitive elements arranged coaxial with the collimator, there is incorporated a system of light-guide fibers arranged at the point of incident of the light rays on the active surface. In the active surface, the light-conducting fibers are placed adjacent to each other, with longitudinal axes parallel to the incident light beams and cross-sections perpendicular to their incidence direction.
Beyond the incidence of light rays, the light-guide fibers branch and each of them is optically connected to one light-sensitive element. These light-sensitive elements are arranged in any geometric grouping, are connected in series and form the base resistance of the downstream transistor switch. The collector output of this transistor switch is the output of the photoelectric indicator.
Výhodou navrhovaného uspořádání fotoelektrického indikátoru je snadná přizpůsobitelnost rozměrů sledované zóny rozměrům a geometrickému uspořádání světlocitlivých prvků při konstrukč ní jednoduchosti, rovnoměrný průběh světelné citlivosti sledované zóny a v neposlední řadě i dosažitelná vysoká rozlišovací schopnost indikace. The advantage of the proposed arrangement of the photoelectric indicator is the easy adaptability of the dimensions of the monitored zone to the dimensions and geometrical arrangement of the photosensitive elements with construction simplicity, uniform course of light sensitivity of the monitored zone and last but not least the achievable high resolution ability of the indication.
An example of an arrangement of the photoelectric indicator according to the invention is schematically shown in the attached drawing.
The photoelectric indicator consists of a light source 2 with a collimator, against which a light-guide system 5 is positioned coaxially at a distance determined by the light output of the light source 2. The light guide fibers 2 are arranged close to each other in the active surface 4 so that they touch each other. Their longitudinal axes are parallel at the point of light incident with the incident light beams 2 and the cross-sections are perpendicular to the direction of their incidence.
Průměr světloyodivých vláken 2 j® roven maximálně polovině příčného rozměru nejmenšího indikovaného objektu 2· Světlovodivá vlákna 2 jsou za místem dopadu libovolně rozvětvena a opticky spojena s libovolně geometricky uspořádaným seskupením světlocitlivých prvků 2, tvořených například fototranzistory nebo fotodiodami. Tyto světlocitlivé prvky 2 jsou elektricky spojeny v sérii a tvoří bázový odpor tranzistorového spínače Ί_, jehož kolektorový výstup 2 j® výstupem fotoelektrického indikátoru. The diameter of the light-conducting fibers 2 is equal to at most half of the transverse dimension of the smallest object 2 indicated. The light-conducting fibers 2 are arbitrarily branched behind the impact point and optically connected to an arbitrarily geometrically arranged array of light-sensitive elements 2. These light-sensitive elements 2 are electrically connected in series and form the base resistance of the transistor switch 7, the collector output of which is the output of the photoelectric indicator.
Světelný zdroj 2 s kolimátorem vytváří rovnoběžný svazek světelných paprsků 2_, který osvětluje indikovaný objekt 2 a promítá se přes něj na aktivní plochu tvořenou příčnými řezy, světlovodivých vláken 5, která jsou opticky spojena se světlocitlivými prvky 6.The light source 2 with the collimator creates a collimated light beam 2, which illuminates the object indicated by 2 and it is reflected through the active area formed by the cross cuts, the optical fibers 5 which are optically connected to the light sensitive elements of the sixth
The electrical circuit works as a product circuit that provides an electrical signal at the collector output 2 and thus at the output of the indicator only when the active surface of at least one light-conducting filament 2 is obscured by the indicated object 2 and the corresponding light-sensitive element 23 is in a non-conductive state.
Pokud indikovaný objekt 3_ není ve sledované zóně, například při přetrhu, je celá aktivní plocha 2 světlovodivých vláken 2 a tedy i světlocitlivé prvky osvětleny, jejich výsledný odpor je malý a kolektorový obvod tranzistorového spínače 7_ je otevřen do saturace, čemuž odpovídá prakticky nulový výstupní signál na kolektorovém výstupu 2·If the indicated object 3 is not in the monitored zone, for example at break, the entire active surface 2 of the light conducting fibers 2 and hence the photosensitive elements is illuminated, their resulting resistance is small and the collector circuit of the transistor switch 7 is open to saturation. on collector output 2 ·
The width of the monitored zone and the resolution of the photoelectric indicator according to the invention are determined by the size of the light guide fibers 5 and their number.
