Distillation residues from the production of ethylbenzene are a varied mixture of polyethylbenzenes, 1,1-diphenylethane and its mono- and diethyl homologues. In most cases, these residues are burned without further chemical use. The essence is the rectification of the above distillation residue with the addition of 0.01 to 0.5% by weight of alkali metal hydroxide in a distillation apparatus with an efficiency of 5 to 50 theoretical plates. Rectification is carried out at a pressure of 0.1 to 100 kPa. The reflux ratio during rectification is 1 : 0.01 to 1 i 40, and steam is introduced into the distillation head during distillation. During rectification, fractions boiling at atmospheric pressure in the temperature range of 175 to 185 °C, 185 to 235 °C, 235 to 265 °C, 265 to 320 °C and above 320 °C are collected. The collection of fractions can also be controlled according to the values of the refractive index at a temperature of 20 °C so that the first fraction with a refractive index of 1.490 to 1.495 is collected, the second fraction with a refractive index of 1.495 to 1.515, the third fraction with a refractive index of 1.515 to 1.545, the fourth fraction with a refractive index of 1.545 to 1.555 and the fifth with a refractive index of above 1.555.
Description
Vynález řeší způsob přípravy aromatických frakcí z destilačních zbytků odpadajících při výrobě ethylbenzenu Friedel-Craftsovým postupem. The present invention provides a process for the preparation of aromatic fractions from distillation residues which are lost in the production of ethylbenzene by the Friedel-Crafts process.
I když využívání druhotných petrochemických surovin pro uvedené účely má značné přednosti oproti derivátům bifenylu, zůstátojf' průvodními nevýhodami těchto kapalin obtížnost přípravy kapaliny s požadovanými vlastnostmi a stálými parametry, přítomnost látek obsahujících chlor v uvedeném řezu, obtížná biologická degradabilita těchto kapalin a jejich znečištění produkty parciální termické degradace. The distillation residues from the production of ethylbenzene are a varied mixture of polyethylbenzenes, 1,1-diphenylethane and its mono- and diethylhomologues. In most cases, these residues are incinerated without further chemical use. Recently, European patents EP 619, EP 621 and EP 622 have been disclosed which disclose the redistillation of these residues, collecting fractions boiling in the range of 255 to 420 ° C, respectively. 275-420 ° C at atmospheric pressure. The fraction obtained is used as an electrotechnical liquid, replacing polychlorinated biphenyls, the use of which is considerably restricted for environmental reasons. Although the use of secondary petrochemical feedstocks for this purpose has considerable advantages over biphenyl derivatives, the accompanying disadvantages of these liquids remain the difficulty of preparing a liquid having the desired properties and constant parameters, the presence of chlorine-containing substances in said section. thermal degradation. They also use only part of the residues of ethylbenzene production, especially their higher-boiling fraction.
Refluxní poměr při rektifikaci je 1:0,01 až 1:40, do destilační násadySome of the above drawbacks are solved by the process of preparing aromatic fractions from distillation residues from ethylbenzene production by the Friedel-Crafts process of the present invention. It is based on rectification of the distillation residues with the addition of 0.1 · 10 1 to 5. 10% by weight of alkali metal hydroxide on a distillation apparatus having an efficiency of 5 to 50 theoretical plates. The rectification is carried out at a pressure of 0.1 to 100 kPa. The reflux ratio at rectification is 1: 0.01 to 1:40, to the distillation batch

At rectification, fractions boiling at atmospheric pressure are collected in the temperature range of 175 to 185 ° C, 185 to 235 ° C, 235 to 265 ° C, 265 to 265 ° C. 320 ° C and above 320 ° C. The first fraction ( collected according to the described procedure contains a mixture of isomeric diethylbenzenes, the second fraction is a mixture of diethyl and triethylbenzenes together with other benzene homologues, the third fraction is a mixture of homologues of benzene and 1,1-diphenylethane, the fourth fraction is a mixture of 1,1-diphenylethane its 3- and 4-methylhomologues and the fifth fraction is a mixture of higher boiling hydrocarbons.
The process according to the invention has a number of advantages over the prior art. Firstly, it uses petrochemical wastes with appropriate rectification to obtain technical fractions useful as important chemical raw materials, eg as additives to petrol, in the production of silicone olives, as a starting material for liquid dielectrics for power transformers, capacitors, insulating oil for high voltage cables, special muffler oils, in the textile industry and the like. The addition of alkali metal hydroxide and water vapor to the distillation batch during the distillation substantially reduces the thermal stress of the distilling liquid, allowing the chlorinated compounds to be concentrated into the first fractions, thus allowing the raw material for electrotechnical liquids to be substantially lower. Also, the use of vacuum distillation, and the addition of an alkali metal hydroxide makes it possible to obtain clear, colorless fractions, which are advantageous for further use, as they do not contain products of thermal degradation of the distilling components.
