Abstract

The protection of an asynchronous electric motor against an impermissible overcurrent is addressed. A signal proportional to the current passing through the asynchronous electric motor is generated in the current transformer. The current signal is changed in the converter and enters the counter as a frequency signal. Clock pulses also enter the counter, which reset the counter. Between two reset pulses, the counter subtracts a signal proportional to the actual current from the current-dependent signal, which is on the digital input of the counter and is set by preselection. If the counter status drops to zero between two reset pulses, the logic block sends a signal to the power block, in which the current supply to the asynchronous electric motor is interrupted.

Description

Vynález se týká zapojení pro ochranu asynchronního motoru před účinky nadproudu převyšujícího stanovenou mez při určitém pracovním režimu.BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a circuit for protecting an asynchronous motor against the effects of an overcurrent exceeding a specified limit in a particular operating mode.

When using an asynchronous electric motor with a short-circuit armature, its correct operation is checked. The most common check of correct operation is overcurrent control. Overcurrent is the electrical current that passes through the stator portion of the electric motor and is greater than the rated current. The overcurrent is caused by an overload of the electric motor. Overloading occurs due to mechanical or electrical causes. The cause of the overload can be increased load or overload of the electric motor load, defective bearings, defective winding, short circuit, insulation failure and the like. In order to avoid unauthorized warming of the electric motor and mechanical stress, which results in insulation failure, increased resistance of the joints, seizure of the bearing, or even the occurrence of fire or injury, electric motors must be protected from the effects of overcurrent.

Protection is carried out by known overcurrent fuses or overcurrent releases. The tripping time depends on the size of the overcurrent. Small overcurrents, which last from a few minutes to several tens of minutes and reach about three times the rated current, detect the current protection with a considerable delay. Medium overcurrents last for several tens of seconds and range from three to ten times the rated current. Typically, protection against dangerous contact voltages responds to medium overcurrents, for example by resetting by tripping the fuse or circuit breaker. Large overcurrents caused by a short circuit usually take several hundredths of a second to several milliseconds. The overcurrent is one order up to four orders greater than the rated current. Most overcurrent protections are aimed at protecting against these large overcurrents. The current passing through the electric motor is checked and if its value rises above the specified limit, the electric motor is disconnected from the mains. Disconnection is provided by an overcurrent release that is electromagnetic or thermal. Depending on the time action, the overcurrent releases are dependent, independent and semi-dependent. For a dependent current release, the trip time is inversely dependent on the magnitude of the current flowing through the release. With an independent current release, the trip time is constant. It is ordered independently of the amount of electric current. The combination of both releases are semi-independent overcurrent releases.

The semi-independent trigger acts initially as dependent and after some time as independent. Independent releases are not suitable for asynchronous motors as they trip instantaneously when the overcurrent setpoint is exceeded. The asynchronous motor overcomes short-term overload without problems and the flash reaction is more of a malfunction because it often shuts down in conditions that do not hurt the motor. Overcurrent thermal releases are more preferred. They are trigger-dependent and the relationship between the tripping time and the amount of overcurrent is hyperbola-shaped. The higher the overcurrent, the shorter the tripping time, which is more favorable for the asynchronous electric motor. Asynchronous electric motors do not mind too much when a small overload has a long-term effect. A large overload can only act on the asynchronous electric motor for a short time without harmful consequences. An ideal thermal trigger would be one in which the warming curve of the protection element would have the same pattern as the warming curve of the protected device. Then the trigger would trip just at the endurance limit of the asynchronous electric motor. Known thermal overcurrent releases of a thermal nature only approach these requirements to a limited extent only when current transformers are used, which adjust the thermal characteristics of the releases accordingly. The characteristics of the current transformer, which adjusts the characteristics of the thermal release, are given by the type of current transformer and it is not possible to change it while the electric motor is running as required by the operation. For example, when the compressor is driven by an asynchronous electric motor, different modes of operation occur. The compressor is one of the loads that cause the so-called heavy start of the electric motor. In case of heavy start of the electric motor, its current is increased to five to ten times the rated value.

Therefore, it is necessary to set the thermal relay in the overcurrent protection to a value considerably higher than the value of the current after start-up, since the thermal protection would trip at the start of the electric motor. After starting the electric motor, the working current of the electric motor drops substantially from the initial value it had during start-up and to which the thermal protection is set. If, for example, a bearing failure occurs, then the current passing through the electric motor will increase due to increased mechanical stress, but the value of the increased current is not as high as the value when the compressor starts. However, the thermal protection does not react to this change and the electric motor is overloaded for a long time. The opposite situation is with sludge pumps. When the pump is filled with sludge, the electric motor is stressed. The protection trips even if the situation would stabilize again at the cost of short-term overload of the electric motor. A similar case occurs with the drive of larger fans during cold start. Stiffened lubrication charge and increased starting current due to the fan characteristic result in the electric motor switching off, although after starting the current would reach the required limits.

These drawbacks are largely eliminated by the wiring to protect the asynchronous electric motor from the overcurrent effects of the invention. The power supply terminal is connected to the input of the current transformer. The output of the current transformer is connected to the power input of the power block. The output of the power block is connected to the input of the asynchronous electric motor. The current transformer signal output is connected to the converter input. The principle of the invention is that the output of the converter is connected to the signal input of the counter. The clock input of the counter is connected to the output of the clock pulse generator. The preset block output is connected to the digital input of the counter. The counter output is connected to the first input of the logic circuit. The second input of the logic block is connected to the wiring control terminal. The output of the logic block is coupled to the logic input of the power block.

The advantage of the circuitry according to the invention is that it makes it possible to vary the characteristics of the protective device according to the current situation on the drive unit with an asynchronous electric motor. The change is set by the preselection block. The setting can be manual, that is, a program wheel or a program machine. In this case, the change is made by a program that changes the characteristics of the protective circuit. It enables setting of protections, which enable heavy start of the electric motor and change of characteristics after the start of the start. After the start-up is complete, the relay responds to small current changes that may be dangerous to the electric motor. The wiring further enables to switch on and test the mechanical load after switching off. This advantage is particularly evident in sludge pumps, where after start-up a new start with increased load is ensured, but only to the limit that applies to short-term overload of the electric motor. Similarly, it enables to ensure correct starting of the fans in cold, safe operation during compressor drive, both during start-up and steady operation.

An example of an arrangement according to the invention is shown in the block diagram of the attached drawing.

Individual wiring blocks can be characterized as follows. The current transformer 1 is either a known measuring current transformer or is formed from an operational amplifier in a low level current converter circuit. It is used to create a signal proportional to the magnitude of current that is taken by the asynchronous electric motor. The converter 2 consists of two operational amplifiers. The first operational amplifier is connected as a current-to-voltage converter with integration feedback. The second opamp is connected as a comparator. It is used to create a signal proportional to the magnitude of current that is taken by the asynchronous electric motor. The preselection block 3 is either manual or connected to an external control system. The manual preset block is a multi-section switch. The more sections, the more accurate the preset. Each section controls one preset bit and allows you to set log level 0 or log 1. If preset block 3 is connected to an external control system, then it is created from the data register in an integrated conversion, or the gateway of the control computer is used directly. It is used to select the maximum permissible current that can flow through an asynchronous electric motor for a certain operation and load.

Slouží k načítání frekvenčního signálu úměrného proudu, který prochází asynchronním elektromotorem a ke srovnání tohoto signálu s hodnotou nastavenou v předvolbovém bloku 3. Slouží k vypínání proudu přicházejícího do asynchronního motoru. Asynchronní elektromotor S je zařízení chráněné před přetížením.Counter 4 is made up of preset binary or decimal counters. The number of counters is selected according to the required accuracy. It is also possible to use an integrated timer circuit, which is intended as a peripheral circuit for microcomputer systems. It is used to read a proportional current frequency signal passing through the asynchronous electric motor and to compare this signal to the value set in preset block 3. The clock pulse generator S is formed from an astable multivibrator in an integrated design and serves to generate zero pulses. The logic block 6 is formed from a circuit. which creates a logical "AND" function and is integrated. It serves for logical comparison of the control signal from the wiring control terminal 02 and the signal from the counter 4. The power block 7 is designed as a contact or contactless switch, for example a thyristor, triac, contactor, deon and the like. It serves to switch off the current coming to the asynchronous motor. The asynchronous electric motor S is an overload protected device.

Výstup 2.2 převodníku 2 je spojen se signálovým vstupemThe connection of the individual asynchronous motor protection blocks is as follows. The power connection terminal 01 is connected to input 1.1 of current transformer 1. Output 1.2 of current transformer 1 is connected to power input 7.1 of power block 7. Output 7.3 of power block 7 is connected to input 8.1 of asynchronous electric motor 8. Signal output 1.3 of current transformer 1 is connected to input 2.1 of converter 2. Output 2.2 of converter 2 is connected to the signal input

The clock input 4.2 of counter 4 is connected to the output 5.1 of the 5-hour pulse generator. Output 3.1 of preset block 3 is connected to digital input 4.3 of counter 4. Output 4.4 of counter 4 is connected to the first input 6.1 of logic block 6. The second input B.2 of logic block 6 is connected to the control terminal 0.2 of the wiring. Output 6.3 of logic block 8 is coupled to second input 7.2 of power block 7.

In preset block 3, the mode for starting the asynchronous electric motor 8 is first set manually or automatically. The signal terminal 0.2 is connected to the log 1 signal. This signal comes to the second input 62 of logic block 6. When starting the electric motor 8 4, and thus at the first input B1 of logic block 6, the signal log 1 is present. If both logical block 6 inputs 6.1 and 6.2 are simultaneously log 1, then output 6.3 of logic block 6 also has a log 1 signal that goes to logic input 7.2 By means of this signal, the switch in power block 7 is switched on. From the power supply terminal 0.1, current is supplied to the power input 1.1 of current transformer 1. The current passes through current transformer 1 and from its power output 1.2 passes through closed power block 7 to input 0.1. of the asynchronous electric motor 8 which starts. The current passing through the current transformer 1 generates a current signal. This current signal transitions from the signal output 1.3 of the current transformer 1 to the input 2.1 of the converter 2. In the converter 2, this current signal is converted into a pulse train which is transferred from the output 2.2 of the converter 2 to the signal input 4.1 of the counter 4. loading them. The number of pulses coming to the counter 4 depends on the magnitude of the current passing through the current transformer 1. The higher the current passes through the current transformer 1, the greater the frequency of pulses at the signal input 4.1 of the counter 4. 5 clock pulses. On arrival of each reset pulse, the counter 4 is reset. That is, after each reset pulse has arrived, the counter 4 starts counting the pulses from its signal input 4.1 again. The digital input 4.3 of counter 4 contains binary or decimal information from preset block 3. This information encodes the maximum current value that may flow through the asynchronous electric motor 8 at a certain operating mode. When (on clock input 4.2 of counter 4 comes a reset pulse) 4 has its own preset, which is inside the counter 4 for the state of its digital input 4.3.

Od tohoto stavu se odečítají pulsy, které přicházejí na signálový vstup 4.1 čítače 4, které odpovídají skutečnému proudu procházejícímu asynchronním elektromotoremFrom this state the pulses that arrive at the signal input 4.1 of the counter 4 corresponding to the actual current passing through the asynchronous electric motor are subtracted.

8. Pokud přijde následující nulovací signál na hodinový vstup 4.2 čítače 4 dříve, než je stav čítače 4 roven nule, to znamená, že proud protékající asynchronním elektromotorem 8 nepřesáhl mez určenou předvolbovým blokem 8, potom zůstává na výstupu 4.4 čítače 4 signál log 1, a výkonový blok 7 zůstává v sepnutém stavu. Příchodem nulovacího signálu se čítač 4 opět vynuluje a nastaví svoji vnitřní předvolbu na stav svého číslicového vstupu 4.3 a celý děj se opakuje.8. If the following reset signal arrives at the clock input 4.2 of the counter 4 before the state of the counter 4 is equal to zero, i.e. the current flowing through the asynchronous electric motor 8 has not exceeded the limit specified by the preset block 8, and the power block 7 remains in the closed state. When the reset signal is received, the counter 4 resets again and sets its internal prefix to the state of its digital input 4.3 and the whole process is repeated.

Pokud proud procházející asynchronním elektromotorem 8 má vyšší hodnotu, než je hodnota stanovená pro určitý režim provozu, předvolbovým blokem 3, potom je frekvence pulsů na signálovém vstupu 4.1 čítače 4 vyšší. Odečítání trvá kratší dobu, a čítač 4 dosáhne nulového stavu před příchodem následujícího nulovacího pulsu. Když přijde signál log 0 na první vstupIf the current passing through the asynchronous electric motor 8 has a value higher than the value set for a particular mode of operation through the preselection block 3, then the pulse frequency at the signal input 4.1 of the counter 4 is higher. The reading takes less time, and the counter 4 reaches zero before the next reset pulse arrives. In this case, the output 4.4 of counter 4 changes from the original log 1 state to the new log 0 state. When the log 0 signal arrives at the first input

Signál log 0 přichází na logický vstup6.1 of the logic block 6 also changes the state of the signal at its output 6.3. From the original log 1 signal, the status changes to the new log 0 signal. The log 0 signal comes to the logic input

The switches in power block 7 open and the power supply to the asynchronous electric motor 8 is interrupted.

The zero signal generated by the 5-clock pulse generator still has the same frequency. The frequency of the frequency signal coming to the signal input 4.1 of the counter 4 varies depending on the magnitude of the current passing through the asynchronous electric motor 8. The digital information corresponding to the maximum permissible current value for a certain operating mode of the asynchronous electric motor 8 also changes according to automatic or manual input in the preselection block 3. It depends on the type of load and the type of operation. It is different for compressors, fans, sludge pumps and takes into account start-up, short-term overload and normal operation.

The invention is applicable to asynchronous electric motors in all fields of industry and agriculture.
